hey just to let you guys know you can use a cell phone hands free kit as your xbox live comm. I found this out because I tried the communicatior on my cell phone and made some calls and it worked just like my hands free ear peice.

My cell phone is a kyocera se 47 slider

you can get earbud kits for like $2.99 on ebay.

My xbox live communicator is broken at the clip that connects to the headpeice.

Cool! A friend of mine had his mic break in the exact same spot. BE WARNED, HOWEVER, the Mad Catz replacement mic (usually $4.99 at shops) is a piece of junk and not worth your time or money (as it will eventually be retired, thrown away or returned).

I wouldnt recomend the generic earbud because of clarity.I can recomend the small around the ear boom mic.

I went to Radio Shack and bought a new headset for 20 bucks. The ear piece is nice and can be used for a long time with no pain. The mic is on the end of a boom that goes to right in front of your month. All and all it was 20 bucks well spent.

Bringing up an OLD topic here but...

The LIVE Communicator really hurts my ear after a short while. I have a hands free cell-phone adapter, but it works pretty poorly for live. The conector seems a bit shorter than the one from the kit. Can anyone recommend a specific model #? I prefer the headsets that are like old school headphones, rather than the small ones that fit over one ear.

Or for that matter has anyone tried the speaker/mic 3rd party adapter that's out now?

I played Rallisport Challenge 2 with a guy who was using the Nyko speakercom and his voice sounded terrible (I thought he was using a voice mask). The kind you're looking for, you might look into the recently released Plantronics replacement...$19.99 (not the Halo 2 earbud).
