man this thing is great! i've only had it a few hours and i cannot fathom living without it. i need an rf box for my stuff anyways (tv only accepts coax), and this one has NO interference (my phillips was horrid, i'd always have to smack it or turn it upside down, etc). it also looks like a little ps2...wish they made one that looked like a dreamcast or nes tho. it also comes with 10 nametags (5 of which you choose to pick) and a 6ft svid/3rca cable.

i know alot of you probably have this or something similar already, but i recommend :D

I have one.

There are a few minor problems though

1:It blurs out the picture
2:It games sound blurry
3:When ever a high amount of bright colors appear on the screen,it will make this static type noise.

Other than those, its pretty cool and useful to have.

I've got that one. It's pretty handy.

I also have this one (http://store.electrogalaxy.com/pelpl957.html). You might want to consider it if you're looking for an upgrade.

I've been looking at that one at Gamestop. How good is it? It certainly seems to be worth the $80 price if it's a good unit.

No doubt, Chad, this thing is great. I bought mine the first day we got them in(for $100) and I love the thing. Not only does it handle component switching with little to no signal loss, but it acts as a good ethernet hub as well. Tons of inputs, too.

A bargain at $80. B&M Gamestop stores should have them, I believe they've dropped to $79.99 in store...

I have been looking at that one as well. Tynstar bought his from Gamestop and said it works great. Now if I can convince myself to spend 80 dollars on something other than a system or games :P

I have the exact one you posted. Besides the fact that it looks like a PS2, i love the thing. I got everything(that i want right now) connected to my TV, and my stereo sytem. It makes life so much easier. Everyone should have a switch box.

You can't do that if you want optical audio or component video routing... and I'd bet many of the cheap ones really crap the signal out along the way. I have an old coax router that I use at the moment and it destroys a Genesis signal... works okay with N64... but either way, it's amplified and it's still wrecking the signals. You definitely get what you pay for with electronics.

Yeah, Chad's right. Although, I've heard from more discriminating circles that the $80 Pelican box is relatively inferior, and that there's some non-video game electronics company that makes a superior line of a/v switchboxes. The name of the company slips my mind right now...

Shhh....just bought a three input coax switcher today at Radio Shack... $12 LOL

Haven't opened it yet, but hopefully it will be okay, and not deteriorate the signal to where I can NOTICE it.

I have that one as well and is kicks ass!! Finally I can hook up all my component devices at once!!!! Plus they all look good. I also use the s-video and A/V hook ups and it all works great. I have never used the hub part.

I've got 3 of those daisy chained together, and there is absolutely no signal degradation. I love them.

I would love to get the big unit, but I can't fathom spending $90 on the sucker when my receiver can do it anyway. I'm not desperate for more inputs....yet

I ditto what Sisko said. I have three with no degradation. Mine are GameStop branded, but they are indeed Pelican. I love them so much more than the shitty "Mad Catz" one I had before. That thing was light as a feather and fell apart. Crappily made. I hate Mad Catz. EB Swears by them. (Which is one reason EB sucks. "We carry Mad Catz. They make great stuff." Tell that to all the controllers and Mad Catz shit I've had that fell apart.)

I just need a place to mount them. I'm thinking of velcro-ing them under a shelf. Easy removal, yet still out of the way.

Well I will be breaking down and getting the one from gamestop. I have been using to switch boxes daisy chained ( no av jacks on my current 27 inch). I am getting a hdtv in june, and I want the best picture. I am tired of the cable mess, and want it taken care of. I keep my current gen systems, sega cd/gen, snes, dc, and nes as well as my dvd player. I kep the other systems in another room with a smaller tv.
