With gamefaqs, you can easily pick the winners. thiers no doubt if they don't play each other the final 4 will be Chrono Trigger, Legend of Zelda: Link To the Past, Final Fantasy VII, and Grand Theft Auto

I voted for River City in this one and couldn't believe the percentages when I saw them. River City didn't just lose, it was crushed ...... By PONG!? When it was the only game around I know it was great, but nowadays a game that you can't even play by yourself (well not supposed to anyway, we've all done it) just shouldn't measure up.

Donkey Kong beat out Duck Hunt by only 3% or something like that. That was a big surprise too. Donkey Kong surely should've beaten Duck Hunt cleanly.

And the Donkey Kong vs. Duck Hunt match was brutal. It literally came down to a few hundred votes when I looked.

Maybe people were looking at the big picture! They were thinking to themselves 'well pong was the first released arcade, it opened up gateways. Cause that lead to Cartridge based systems, and without those River City Ransom wouldn't be here'. Its the snow ball affect! LOL

Somehow I doubt the average Gamefaqs user thinks along those lines.

River City Ransom is insanely popular with the emulation crowd, but I don't think too many people actually had an NES cartridge. So the non emulator people are probably going "River City what? Oooh look Pong I've heard of that!"

The problem is, river city ransom ISN'T a well known game. AT ALL.

As someone said, most gamefaq users haven't played anything before the N64. Which means on this RCR vs. Pong, they're all gonna go with pong, saying "what the fuck is river city ransom? sounds gay."

I think it makes perfect sense (my boyfriend was calling me an idiot for picking Pong to win, though :P ). Just as many people haven't play River City Ransom as Pong, so it comes down to name recognition and Pong easily beats it out.

By the way, I don't really have any interest in the polls; I just want to put my knowledge of the tastes of gamers online to some use and hopefully someday get a prize out of it. o_O

True, true, I stick out like a sore thumb at GameFAQs. I've gotten into countless arguments with dumb kids who claim that ROMs are legal or that buying old games is pointless when you could download them. :/

As for Syxx573, you replying to me? In all honesty, I don't think I've ever played original Pong either. o_O I did vote for Pong, but that was only to support my bracket. Also, that was long after Pong had a MASSIVE lead on RCR. I'm not the type to blindly vote for something just because I've heard of it. :/ I may have never played RCR, but it's by no means true that I "know nothing about the game". I would even vote against a game I really like if it was in favor of my bracket. I don't give two shits about the polls at an entertainment level, so I don't care who wins. It's not like the games I like will get far, and my very favorite games never even have a chance at getting in the tournament in the first place.
