One of the perks of my freelance weaseldom is that I'm usually able to scam retail copies of current games--but Sammy, which has always hooked me up in the past, rejected my 20XX request, saying it had only a handful of press copies as opposed to the usual boatload.
Whether this means Sammy recognized 20XX's stunning suckiness early on and manufactured a modest number of copies, I don't know, but I'm trying to find out.

Its for the PS2
Based loosley on the Seven Samurai Movie... except with a 20XX newness twist to it. Sammy titles usually get short run as it is, and this one wasnt developed by an all that great developer. It looks like they dumped all the money into the purchasing of rights and Artistic collaboration. Leaving like 35 cents for development of the game. It will be a harder to get title, you can count on that.

All the previews for this title, and ads, made this game look like it would be BEYOND excellent....a title for the ages as you may say. But then it was released.
I checked reviews of it, which ranged anywhere from 2/10 - 6/10.
I am not impressed. depressed more like it :(

I dunno...I saw the review on Xplay, and it didn't look that bad...Mind-numbingly weird, but not bad... although a game called SEVEN samurai with only one playable character is stupid. But If it ever hits $10-15 i'll buy it.
