It was reported by DP member Crush Crawfish that GameStop is having a sale right now where you can get 30 percent off of NES, SNES and Genny games.

With this deal you can get some SNES games at GameStop for as little as 69 cents!

I recently bought Desert Strike for the SNES at GameStop for 99 cents. Had I got that cart under this sale, I would have gotten it for only 69 cents.

Anytime you can get a SNES game for 69 cents, it's worth grabbing. Even crappy SNES sports games are worth grabbing at 69 cents. You can always put about 10 crappy SNES sports games togehter, with a old yellow used SNES system, and throw it on Ebay and get some cash to use to buy stuff that you really want.

Occasionally I'll find a SNES at a Goodwill or someplace for as little as 4 bucks. I can take that SNES, add some crappy 69 cent SNES sports carts, and then hawk the thing for $25 on Ebizzle.

Yeah, it's kinda low down and dirty, but hey, I'm not putting a gun to anybodies head and forcing them to buy a used SNES with some crappy sports games for $25.

How is it down and dirty? You didn't steal anything did you?

I do it myself....its how I make a living, and I know at least 3 others here on the board do it to.

Its perfectly legit in my book :)

Nah, .33 is about as high as I'd go for crappy sports SNES games.

A SNES without the crappy sports titles on ebay would probably sell for more than one WITH them, because the winner wouldn't a) want the crappy sports titles to begin with and b) wouldn't want to pay the extra shipping for the added weight. :)

I have to ask why this warranted a new topic, instead of just a post to Crawfish's? No need to bump whatever topics are at the bottom of the page off with topics that could've simply been posts. Just a thought.

It does sound a bit better than ESomeone-who-looks-romantically-t-members-of-their-own-gende-not-that-there's-anything-wrong-with-that. That just takes too long.

$0.69 sounds like a pretty good deal, except for all of those sports games, like AA said. I'm surprised you'd even pay that, AA. Honestly. A dime seems too much to me. But hey, anytime you can get a good NES cart for cheap is a good time.

not only does my gamestop NOT have the 30% off sale, the cheapest game is probably 4.99...they sell the first street fighter II for 8.99.

I think that you are dramatically underestimating the sheer stupidy of alot of Ebay buyers.

I can take a SNES system, put a game like Mario All Stars and Castlevania with it, add 8 crappy sports games and get considerably more money than if I sold it with just the system, All Stars and Castlevania 4.

I know that it doesn't make sense to most of us here, and it really is a worse deal, but it's a psychology thing. It's a subliminal thing. Buying a SNES with 10 games just seems to sound better to people then buying one with 2 games. Even if 8 of the games are worthless crappy sports games.

Now I will say that the vast majority of people out there in Ebay land don't fall for these sort of marketing gimmicks, but there is a small minority that does. And as long as the minority pays me my money, I'm happy.

No, he didn't.
He said he SELLS things on eBay for higher prices than he BUYS them for, and that's how he makes a living.

Okay, no one likes the sports games, but how come no one's talking about this being a good deal for any other types of games?

Droped it GameStop today and picked up Warsong, and Romance of the Three Kingdom's III for resale and Gauntlet (tengen), Dragons Lair (snes), and some free Crystal Chronicle Promotional buttons for myself.

While they had both the 30% off deal and the buy 2 get one free they refused to do both on one transaction...

So I got Romance for free and 30% on Gauntlet.

Totally agree with this, people dont just look and see what they are buying sure your'e getting 10 games but you won't play 8 of them. crap games can make a lot of money with systems, especially when you can pick up games like super kick off for £0.10 (or $0.06). Better still ive seen systems with lots of crap non-sports games (mega games 1 etc) sell for phenomenol amounts. They just don't think.
