Looks like someone is trying to ride the Famicom anniversary train.

But, at least you get 2 games with what sounds like MANY upgrades from before (And upgrades over the PS1 games FInal Fantasy Origins). I'm happy for this as now I won't have to wait for loading on the PS1 game or stumble through #2 on my Famicom.

But when will the US get FF3?

Hmm, sorry to burst your bubble, but this is a Japanese release. There's no announced North American release date (yet?)... Since Square Enix already released FF Origins for the PS1, who knows if they'll bother localizing (once more) FF I+II?

Squares released everything over here since the sucess of ff7. We'll see it.

Final Fantasy, + GBA? Surefire money maker. No way Square wouldn't release it stateside. Just look at how well Tactics has sold.

Hmm...looks like FFTA art. The box art on the original games was awesome, too bad it didn't show up here in the states.

Haha! I was just gonna post this, but I was beat to it. Personally, I'm really excited about this compilation, and square would be crazy not to localize it, because we all know Final Fantasy+anything other than a movie = $$$$. But what I really wish is that Nintendo would freakin' localize the Mother 1+2 compilation for GBA!!!! Dammit! It's been 9 years since Earthbound came out! I NEED MORE!!!!!!! Sorry about the rant!

Ugh, just how many versions of these games are needed? Let's see, there's... the original Famicom versions of Final Fantasy I and II, the Famicom release of both together, the Wonderswan versions, the Final Fantasy Origins versions, and now GBA versions. Any I left out? Square just gets worse and worse in their milking of everything Final Fantasy.

And stop fucking with my old games, dammit. Why is making a game easier and like modern games considered an "upgrade"? Improving the graphics and sound is fine (and adding more stuff), but I hate it when they toy around with the gameplay and difficulty. >(

Yes, there is also a MSX version and a cell phone version of Final Fantasy 1.

I don't know about it having that many more upgrades than the PS1 version. The PS1 version let you save anywhere in the game (memo file), and the graphics were also upgraded quite a bit. I'm sure the sound on the PS1 is better than the GBA cart's will be - the GBA sound chip is IMO nowhere near as good as the one that was on the SNES.

The new dungeons sound sort of cool though. I'm not sure they're cool enough to justify more $ on my part. I, too, want to see FF3j on something other than an emulator for once :)
