i was opening my king of kings cart to clean the inside but then after getting 4 screw off I noticed it wouldnt open. Stuck? No. Bastards put the sticker over the 5th screw. Why? so only retards open the cart. I didnt want to rip the sticker so I left it alone. Thats gay that they do that though. Same tihe nintendo when they changed the carts from the screws being able to open with a flatheadto the ones where you need the special bit....GAY!!!

you have to rip the sticker on black tengen carts too...

solution: don't rip, just clean as-is, extra extra for like 5 mins.

Hmm...I've never actually had to open a cart to clean it. Using a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol on the connectors works fine for me. What would need cleaning inside?

I agree greg! Mega man rules like none other! I've got all the U.S. games except 7,8 and the game gear one. (BTW, isn't this kinda off topic? LOL )

Wow. I didn't know there was passive-aggressive gay bashing on this forum. You learn something every day, I guess.

I would imagine that they never intended for typical users to open the games so they didn't think much of putting the screws under the label.

well....hmmmm. lets think here.

Say that Nintendo decided to keep regular screws, and Color Dreams decided not to put a sticker over there labels, and it was really easy to take the back off of your games.

Now, say you bought a nice rare copy of Dragon Warrior 4 at the flea market for 10.00. Your happy! only to realize some wanna be crook swapped the roms out for a Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt rom several years ago when he rented it.

I'm glad Nintendo did this, because of this reason, otherwise we'd have threads all over the place along the lines of "I just got Stadium Events at the Flea Market for 20.00 but it had a METROID rom in it".

Thank you Nintendo!

Basically, yes, if you want to open your carts then stop being a cheap ass and spend 10.00 on the bit. Plain and simple...it's a damn small price to pay to save yourself from the destruction that having regular screws in games would have caused.

I don't know how many people would actually do that, but it is a good point. As for the 'its gay comment' my nieghbor in 3rd grade says that.

This thread makes everybody cry.

Um, before I go on about beating greg to death with a certain item of parephenalia, I also noted that Tengen games have a screw in the middle under the sticker...whoever had it before opened it for some reason or other, but not swapping out the ROM. That made it possible for me to open it and take pictures :)

The nice thing is that the screw wasn't under the front label...the back label getting a slight hole in it isn't that great a tragedy, all things considered.
