Recently, My PS2 just crapped out on me for the 2nd time. I got it repaired once for the constant disc read error, and now it's back. Except now, It will sometimes play the game, but with no sound. I've heard of DRE PS2's being sold on ebay, and I was wondering what anyone thinks would be a decent price to me to sell it at. I'm not trying to scam anyone, I'd be happy to get like $50 for it. I figured it would be better to just buy a new one at this point. So, any thoughts?

Why don't you sell it on eBay and find out? $50 for a dead PS2 that may very well be irrepairable or just not worth repairing. $20 is a little more accurate, I think.

I'd just go to Walmart, start crying, and beg for them to replace your old one. I've heard that it works from time to time. ;)

50-75 on average. Throw in a ceap game and it may go for a bit more, thats what I did with my xbox. Most people think they can fix em, and some can, if nothing else the parts can be worthwile to some people.

I buy bare, broken PS2's locally (game stores and such) for $10CDN to $25CDN per, depending on version, completeness. (no wires or controller at that price) When I offer $10CDN for a 10 screw (launch version) PS2, I'm being generous. Those are utter trash. Not worth fixing, as they rarely stay fixed. No compatible parts with newer version. Junk.

That said, when I offer to buy one, it is definitely irrepairable. The above sources use me for repairs, and I I can't fix it, it ain't worth fixing. That drives the value down a bit.

Broken PS2's are everywhere. I see a future where municipalities are using them to make bus benches, fence staves, and other uses.
