Okay, I finally broke down and purchased a Dreamcast. I only did it because so many of you speak so highly of it in the forums. You have to understand I'm old school. To me anything after the Turbo Grafx is blasphemy. Oh I do play later consoles (we own Genesis,SNES,PS2,Xbox,Gamecube) but those are my 10 year old sons systems and are kept in his room. Since I was raising a growing family I missed out on purchasing the last two Sega consoles. Anyway I was in Gamestop today and as some of you might know it was the last day of the 2 for 1 sale. It was also the last week of my 10% Gamestop card and I don't plan to renew. To compound matters all the DC stuff was 30% off. Sooooooo this is what I got:

Dreamcast w/ controller
3 Dreamcast Controllers (Nyco)
3 Sega Memory Cards
Dead or Alive 2
Sonic Adventure 2
Sega Marine Fishing
WWF Royal Rumble
Vigilante 8
Sonic Shuffle
Shenmue
4 wheel thunder
Toy Commnader
Virtua Athlete 2000
NBA 2k
NFL 2k
Razor

Cost 69.55

I would have bought more but that was all the cash I had.

So now that I own this thing what games are must gets?

Man, that's not oldschool, that's like Paleozoic school. LOL

If you don't have a GameCube, Skies of Arcadia is worth picking up. Good RPG.

I would suggest Soul Calibur...though it may not be so much a must-own now if you've bought the follow-up on any of the current systems. But it's still probably the best Dreamcast game. If you like baseball, you may want to get the second World Series Baseball game for the system...is that 2K2? It's graphics aren't quite as realistic as the first one but the control is better. And I would recommend Resident Evil Code: Veronica if you haven't bought one of the ports of it on another system...

Try to find Illbleed if you can. It's a weird twist on the survival horror genre.

Seeing as you seem to be an old-school fan, you owe it to yourself to track down Bangai-o. It's an amazingly fun 2d shooter with wackiness and thousands of missiles on the screen at once. Also, power stone 2 is one of the best fighters ever, IMO.

Crazy Taxi has a healthy, cult following.

Jet Grind Radio is fun. Of course, you may want to play it before its sequel, tho (Jet Set Radio Future for the Xbox). Just remind your 10-year-old that in real life, graffiti-making is not welcome by society...

I always go back to sega bass fishing. Its a cheap title and one of my favorites. Also crazy taxi 2, which is just as good, maybe better than the original.

I regret ever getting id of my DreamCast. I have to get another one. Anyway, I saw that you didn't have Sonic Adventure, so you must get that game, if you're a sonic fan. Especially since you have the second one. You have to play the first one, as it's a great game, but I suggest stopping there and getting rid of SOnic Adventure 2, because IMO, it's crap.

Get a keyboard and Typing of the Dead. Keyboards are what... 5 bucks at the most? Not only is it fun and hilarious, but it'll improve your typing skills too. o_O

If you liked the TurboGrafx 16, I am going to assume you like shooters. If that is the case, check out Mars Matrix, Bangai-o, Giga Wing, Giga Wing 2 and Gunbird 2. I also like Grandia II, Elemental Gimmick Gear (EGG), Record of Lodoss War and Skies of Arcadia for RPGs.

I was going to suggest Street Fighter III: Third Strike, but it's going to be released on the PS2 soon, so I guess it's not an absolute must for the DC. Plus, Whoiskeel suggested it. Didn't see that at first. :)

Hmm... so many has been suggested already... okay, I got one. If you don't mind a game being short, and you're up for an undead-themed 3D beat-em-up/shooter hybrid, check out Zombie Revenge. If you're into boxing, I'd check out Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, and if you're a big Resident Evil fan, check out RE: Code Veronica, which is, for some reason, the only RE game I have beaten so far. That's all I got, so many good suggestions have already been taken. :D

Here's the games that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:

Cannon Spike
Crazy Taxi
KOF Dream Match 99
Marvel vs Capcom 2
NBA/NFL whatever 2k2 or whatever
Resident Evil 2 3 and Code Veronica especially
Skies of Arcadia
Soul Calibur
Space Channel 5
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Fighter III : Third Strike
Tony Hawk 2
Virtua Tennis

Some of these might still be more then you are willing to pay for a game for an older system though.

Good luck.
