Somethings not shown..that I put in storage..like the Large Final Fantasy XI displays.
Other stuff I put away because I automatically had a use for it..

The TV combo works and came from Gamestop with a Video of 48 games.
(January 2004 gamestop Video)

There's over 1000 items here..I'm overwelmed..
I got another Arcade machine today so I'm really rushing to move stuff.

I just pulled this stuff out of the box quick to take a pic..
Spead out it would take up several rooms for there are stacks of Game inserts.

The inserts the stores would put on the shelf to display a game is coming out in a case..
Some of them don't say (for display only)
For example..The Xbox True Crime insert does not say anything about display..It looks like it could be used as the regular insertBUT it's has some difference on the back side with screen shots.
I have a ton of there for different games.

I really need to look at this stuff for it's so,so much..

I usually get PMs for stuff..
I'll try to answer them asap...I really need to get organized here then chill out and look at everything...

What's that black thing that says "Mega Man" on it? It's to the right of the center of the pic.

For a minute I thought it was a Neo Geo cart or something but it appears to be a NES dust sleeve with a Mega Man sticker on it. Nothing special, sorta.

TV's hella nice though.

Yes...It's a NES sleave with a Mega Man sticker on it..your right.

Thanks about the TV..
I'm amazed..It doesn't have a scratch on it..

My Uncle kept the other large Mega Man display with mega man in it.

I really need to look through this stuff.

Does the VCR on that TV work well? I remember that we had a similar one at our store and it finally crapped out. TV worked find, VCR was kaput.

Was this the same store you hit up last time?

Not a bad haul, but I wouldn't bend over backwards to get those 'for display only' sleeves, they're usually crappy Gamestop corporate Photoshop jobs. LOL

Yea the VCR works,I just neded to give it a head cleaning and adjust the tracking.

There are so many inserts here some not saying store display made of the same paper and quality as a real one..
I need to take some pics later this week of some them them..It's just so much..

here's the Empty cases,.

The main thing I know I won't be selling is the original game boxes..for instance the Green Xbox cases.
I'm going to use them for the games that I bought used that were put in basic DVD cases..

I haven't looked at anything else..

I realized I had put a few of the signs in my collection and some magazines, online gaming books away that were in the pile.
A really nice PLAY magazine with GT4 on it.

I did take a quick dig through the cardboard fold out game display boxes and there must be several hundred of them there for different games.
I had to put them back,I really need someone to go through them with me.

That type of stuff I don't mind getting rid for I can keep one or two of each..

I want to take more pictures later this week..

This is only part of what else "my uncle" picked up..
He had over 10 large store displays in the van that have to go in storage..I just don't have the room..

If you really want something I'm not greedy..I honestly didn't post it to sell this stuff..
Though I don't need it all....It's way too much..

Shoot me a PM with an offer and I'll send you my info..
Please take in mind shipping and whatever you want the stuff shipped in..because I can't afford to ship this stuff for free or pay for the large envelopes etc..

Nice find. I would try my hand at dumpster diving, that is if THERE WERE ANY DECENT GAME PLACES AROUND HERE THAT DIDN'T USE THOSE COMPACTORS!!!

Sorry, just had to vent.

Wow...

It could be a strange coincidence, but I wonder if that NES sleeve with the Megaman sticker was mine at one time. I put that exact style sticker on one of my NES dust sleeves years ago and I may have traded it in without realizing it. That sure would be funny. Both of us apparently being from Jersey, I suppose it is possible. Though I really don't remember trading mine in and If I did it would've been years ago.

Quick Dumpster Diving n00b question: Is it against the law? Would one get in trouble if caught dumpster diving? Beyond simply getting told to leave I mean.

EDIT: Just checked over my NES collection and the Dust Cover with Mega Man Sticker is still there. Guess I'm not the only one to do that.

Aw, that would be really cool if it turned out to be yours. On the other hand, it's generally not very smart to trade in a dust sleeve. GameStop doesn't care either way.

I wouldn't worry about being busted for dumpster diving. But, in case things get bad, remember this line: "Hi, officer... No, I'm helping a friend move out of his apartment; we're looking for cardboard boxes."

:) I also had a red hand written#25 sticker on it that I took off..I guess it was a garage sale or something before..

Do you know where they stickers came from..?

That would of been cool if it was yours..I would of sent it back to you..
I know my buddy Ron is going to want it when he comes over tomorrom..

He's a Mega Man fan

Yes,dumpster diving is illegal to my knowledge..but he does know some of the store managers of the stores he goes to..
They just won't hold anything around the store for anybody.

He's always buying games so they've sort of got to know him..
They've came out and seen him taking stuff and didn't complain..But that's him..I say if you dumpster dive your taking a chance and I don't know what can happen..
(I never go..He always does it..)

He was going to stop at a never checked Gamestore dumpster in N.Y when we were picking up Arcade machines..I talked him out of it for I didn't feel right about it.

Your find is up there with the 100+ Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox game cases (a few with manuals and Nintendo pin numbers), DVD movie Amaray cases, and Genesis game cases I found in GameCrazy's dumpster in late December. At this writing, I'm still looking for game discs to fill them. I'll probably find them at the same store where I found the cases. Anyway, don't stop diving!

On my last dive a few weeks ago, I found boxes and instructions for Mario Party 3 and Pokemon Stadium 2, but they were too rain-logged to be of any use. The pages were stuck together. If only I had gone on a Thursday instead of a Friday...

Videogamerdaryll,
I can't for the life of me recall where I got the sticker. Not surprising since it must've been around '92 or so when I put it on the sleeve. I have trouble remembering last week. :embarrassed: Thanks for the info on Dumpster diving.

I paid $450.00 for that and the Neo Geo 2 slot cab in my Sig (pick-up)
($250+200.00)
The MK cab I'm converting into a Mini Neo Geo because I have the parts and for some Capcom CPS2 use..But I'm eventually going to turn it into it's original Galaga cab once I get the parts..
Or I may turn it into a MS Pac Man if I don't get one before I set my mind to that.

The vendor who I bought the two cabs from for $450.00 gave me boxes of spare parts and PCB boards that I've already sold some of... making over $250.00..
So it's like I got a cab for free.

I'm getting rid of the whole MK set-up in that cab..I've been through too many MKs boards already.(sold them all)

I figured since it's a store they probably ordered a new one ..Maybe a flat screen type.

or
A bigger set.

Was to lazy to buy a head cleanner and said the heck with it lets order a new TV on company money.

Lost the remote..(I used a universal one)

Manager may have been a nasty....and said throw it out,no one gets it.

Dumpster Diving is legal, but there are certain rules about it. This was discussed in a very similar thread once before:

I have the same Mega Man sticker. It came packaged for free with one of the Capcom games of the time---probably Mega Man 2, Rescue Rangers, Talespin, or Little Nemo: the Dream Master. Two of the Capcom games that I got came with Mega Man stickers, that one and a second design. Hence why I cannot recollect the exact games they came from, I am 90% sure it would be MM2 and LN though.

rbudrick,
Thanks for the info. If I ever try it and get caught, I'll be sure to post the story for all of you to read. Should be good for a laugh.

TRM,
I owned Mega Man 2, Rescue Rangers and Little Nemo so that's a good possibility.

..I totally got off tracked today when I got this lil Dumpster dive find..
This put me in an instant project..

My uncle brought this to me today with some other EB Dumpster/small items..Nothing special..

http://img7.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MKGOLD_010.jpg

My goal today was to figure out a way to use fix this..
The cut wire is no problem (RCA Jacks)

I tried to just put in a new stick/shaft from a Sanwa joystick but the broken shaft joystick in it was to small for any changes and not really made to be fixed(Cheap Crap)

I was going to just wire it up to a control panel or other joystick I have around here..
But it needs to be 4 way only..So I used one of my spare 4-8 way switchable Sanwa sticks.
This way I can switch it back to eightway when I want to use the controller for the AES.(two screws)

I'm making the Xbox stick with plugs so that it will work on an AES system and this lil Namco system.
http://img7.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MKGOLD_011.jpg

I'm wiring up the fire button on the lil Namco TV system to the A button on the Xbox controller..
The Namco unit will be set up with plugs so I can unplug it..but

I'm taking the Namcos internals and putting them in this controller..
http://img7.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/MKGOLD_014.jpg

It works..I was playing it earlier.
I Have it roughly wired up just to get it working..

It has very small leaf Arcade type switches for the joystick and buttons.I'm just taking those wires off those switches..putting a plug on the end and wiring it to the switches in the Xbox contrioller.

This is my first and latest dual project..
I just need the wire for the AES to finally get here.

Note: That Xbox stick was a previous Dumpster Dive find ..with... This working(hooked up now) Pelican System Selector Pro.

We never had a problem when I worked at EB, I made sure all the good junk went home with me ;)

But damn, I think it's time I make a visit to some dumpsters... pride or not, it's a shame to see some of this stuff go to waste.
