A while back I caught wind of a new product called Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser. Removes crayon and magic marker from textured walls EH!? Imagine my delight at finding an online promotion for a free sample! Well I filled it out, forgot about it and today it came in the mail so WHEEEEE here are the results:

It's basically this white sponge that you dampen with water and rub with some pressure into the area.

Preliminary testing!

GASP!!! IT IS GONE!!

If you look carefully you can see the slight smudge in the texture where the marker once was. It basically leaves a faint dull area where the eraser was rubbed. I'm thinking some kind of mild acetone is involved but the end results look a heck of a lot better than what rubbing alchohol leaves of the permanent marker.

Marker is gone! Vanished! No more!

Have I exchanged my soul by hawking a corporate product!? Yes!

Just a thought for you.

A Dremel tool would buff that dull spot up right nice . :D

I dunno. I've tried using a dremel with a buffing pad to try and get marker out before. It left a nasty streak in the plastic of my Super Bonk cart. :eek 2: Fortunately it was the backside and I've since swapped it out.

You have to do it at low speed with the cloth buffer adapter, not the regular pads that come with the Dremel.

And I just meant the dull spot, not trying to buff out the magic marker spot.

Bleh. Why use a Dremel when, clearly, Mr. Clean has magical powers?

i've said before in other topics, and i'll say it again, for $.99 get some testor's paint thinner (used for plastic models). Marker comes right off. Sticky comes right off jewel cases. do not use on boxes.

There's this stuff @ Home Depot called Goo Off 2.

It's basically lighter fluid with a fancier sticker (it comes in the same container though!)

This stuff can take off stuff that Goo Gone can't!

But be careful, it dulls the grey cart color a bit, and never use it on the label! But it's much better than leaving the marker writing on!

I think I'll try that magic Eraser, before I openmy bottle of Goof Off again.

That stuff scares me. @_@
