hello. i vist digitpress alot, but this is my first time in the forums. i'm in some money trouble and am forced to sell my original nintendo collection. i've been collecting for a while and purchase primarily the rarer games. alot of it is commons, but its a VERY large percentage of unliscensed games and very hard to find titles. here's the quick info

390+ games (no doubles)
2x toploaders (with dogbones)
normal frontloader with box
factory sealed Aladdin deck enhancer!!!
r.o.b. (missing parts. used for decoration only)
lots of accessories (lightscope, light gun, power glove/pad, etc...)

i'll probably sell it on ebay, but i was curious if anybody here wanted to make any offers on it before it hits "the market". i had one person i work with (funcoland) offer me $1,000 for it all. thats what i estimated. if anybody thinks its worth more or less i'll take advice just as well as offers.

here are some of the rarer titles...bubble bobble 2, maxi 15, deathrace, color a dinosaur..um....i don't know. alot. tons of camerica and american video carts. along with almost all of the wisdom tree games.

advice, questions, suggestions, offers....anything is appreciated. i'm too busy crying about selling them to concentrate on doing it properly.

Are there any games that are boxed and/or have manuals?

i have about 50 boxes. some of the best are mega man 2, north vs south, quattro arcade, mc kids, star wars, um....like i said. 50. alot of those have manuals in them. i had a HUGE stack of manuels at one point, but i think i lost them when i last moved. with the exception of the few ones i mentioned, the boxes are mainly generic games. zeldas, MT punch out, things like that.

i'm working on making a list of the games right now. it should be here in a day or two. in the meantime i would still appreciate suggestions, offers, and questions.

So I take it there's no chance of selling the games seperately? I'd probably buy a crapload of them from you in order to round out my collection...but I guess that depends on what price you'd do that at.

i don't want to do it individually for a few reasons...
A.) after i sell all the ones that can get me some decent money, then all the ones i can get 10 bucks or so each, then the 5 buck ones, i'll be left with a bunch of games that didn't get purchased and i might not have made that 1,000 that i coulda got with the lump sum.

B.) i don't want to go through the process of listing, organizing, shipping, and dealing with lots of different transactions.

C.) i can't stand to see it chisled away. its all or nothing man. i'm way to attached to see it suffer then slip away. if its going then its going with a bullet through its brain. one shot. no pain.

Where are you located? Do you have references?

i don't think i have any references. i'm in Dayton, Ohio. the way i was thinking on doing was if somebody here wanted to buy it i would put it up on ebay with the buy-it-now of whatever they said they'd pay at a pre-set time. i do a fair amount of ebay and have not had any problems yet. that way we would both get the "protection" they offer.

more likely than not, you can get more money by selling games individually/in smaller lots than everything all in one...

I personally think you should sell the stuff induvidually, think about it, Even if you sold every game for $3, you could make almost $1200 on th games alone, not including the systems, and whatnot. It would also give a bunch of people a chance to polish of thieer collections, and such. Just a thought :)

I am considering buying this lot from you. I would probably be more inclined to say yes if I had a complete list of items and games. By the way, sorry to hear you need to sell :(

If only i had that kind of money....and I was still collecting NES like I was at one point. This is just a puddleskip down the road. Good luck selling it though and like others have mentioned....you could probably get more by parting it out. If somebody is willing to pay $1000 in one lump sum, you're bound to get more by parting it out....takes alot of time though...

i don't want to do it individually for a few reasons...

I've been here for a little over a year and while a few individuals have stopped by to try and sell their entire collections, I don't remember hearing of much success when they refuse to part it out. That doesn't rule out behind the scene deals of course.. somebody correct me if I'm wrong, please.

You have my sympathy that your situation is forcing your hand but good luck finding someone with over 1k in their wallet and willing to spend it in one place around tax time.

My advice (And it's genuine, because there's not much more NES stuff I'm personally after, so I'm not lusting after your goods, so to speak. ;) ) is to single out the rares, and dump lots of 50 - 100 common / uncommon stuff where you'll average 2 to 3 dollars a cart on ebay. Heck you could group some stuff into crazy lots like an all-color dreams auction and the uniqueness alone might draw in more money that way. You have two top-loaders, bundle them with a bunch of lame games and pocket 200 a piece right there.

To forsake the earning potential just because you want to let it go in one move is probably throwing away a third of what you could really get.

wow. thanks for the input so far. i was needing the money fast, but the more i think about what you say the more it makes sense. I don't have a thousand dollars, and nobody that i know has a thousand dollars. but i know a ton of people with thirty bucks or so...hmmm. now i have to plan even more on how to break everything down. i Promise to have this list ready soon. i'm super busy, so i apologize for the delay. I will appreciate any help oh how to bundle or sell the things off. like i said, this is difficult for me, so my mind is a bit hazy.

I am still interested in buying the whole lot. Send me a pm and we can talk about it if you are interested. I will say this as a fellow dp member though. You would do pretty well selling lots on ebay. If you want some advice on that...Also feel free to pm me.

If it doesn't sell as a whole I will be intrested in all of your boxed games! Shoot me a PM with what games are boxed, and we will talk more. If it doesn't sell as a whole.

i've put alot of thought into it and have decided that i'll be doing it all in one big lump sum. i'm looking for $1,300 for the whole kit and kaboodle (buyer pays shipping). everything in that picture (minus the shelves). if you take the time to look at the games and how much you could probably make individually off of them, then you'll see how great of a price this is. i know alot of people don't have 1300 to throw around on video games, but if you run a store, or are trying to get a booth started, or want to make a business of selling nes individuals you can set up a store with these and be set. not only is it a good price for them, most of these are games that you'll spend alot of time trying to find. so shoot me a PM or wait a bit and i'll list it on ebay within the next couple of nights. thanks for all of the advice, but in the end i want one transaction. i need lots of money really fast, and i don't have time to deal with all of the transactions. this will also get anyone looking for a complete collection that much closer to their goal. any doubles that you acquired could be easily sold or traded. thanks again.

i'm also thinking on selling my atari collection

7800
2600 woody
2600 jr
5200 (never tested)
close to 200 games

almost all of the games are pretty common. there are some decent ones like beany bopper, pooyan, ghost manor/something i forget double ender....but anyways....what should i be looking for? i don't know what this should/could sell for.

ok. i know i said i was going to be putting this stuff up on ebay over a week ago, but i'm serious this time. i've just been really busy lately. so, last chance, if anybody wants to make me an offer to buy this collection up front, before it hits the ebay market, just make me an offer. i'm looking for $1,300. i will consider other offers. thanks again. this is my last post about this.
