I'll assume your talking about the NES sp, so yes I will be buying it.

The US is only getting 8 of the games, tholly.
Nah... I'm not gonna get it. I don't have a SP, but I can do without (at least for now). Plus I think the NES SP is kinda ugly... I'd much rather have the limited edition Famicom SP with the gold trim... o_o Lord knows how much those cost now, though, considering they only made 1000 I think...

I will be getting one. I don't care at all about those Famicom ones, because I never experienced the glory of the Nintendo Age of gaming on a Famicom - I did it on a toaster NES. It's all about nostalgia, and I have none for the Famicom.

that gold one is ugly as hell. i got the 2nd edition one, which is much nicer imo.

Seeing as how I just bought the Famicom edition SP, and I'm broke as hell, yes I will be getting this one as well. There's just no way I can pass something like that up.

I preordered it, and will probably end up with the games as well. How I'll pay for it? I wish I knew.

no i'm not getting one, i don't play my old regular gba as it is...
but funny thing is, i'd rather get the famicom one rather than the nes one even though i've never even seen a famicom in person...i dunno, it just looks better (the sp i mean)

at first I was all over this idea but taking 2 things into consideration - I dont think I'm gonna get one:
1. I already have two GBAs - the one regular one that I imported from Japan before the US GBA launch, which I then Afterburner Modded. and the other is the Blue US GBASP.
2. I just got an apartment in NYC & every 100 bucks counts.
If this were a new system, then it would be different. But it's only a re-skin. It doesnt make my nipples poke out THAT much.
I still prefer to play GBA games on the GB Player with the HORI controller on a big ol tv.

if i do get an SP, this will be the one i buy
but i think nintendo is missing the boat a bit, 2004 is the 15th anniversary of the original Game Boy, they make an SP, with the color scheme of the beloved brickboy. Since the GBA has become the platform of choice for retro releases, Nintendo may as well repackage some of their older GB games. This wouldnt be totally unprecedented, as they updated Zelda: Link's Awakening and Tetris when the Game Boy Color was released. I think color versions of Super Mario Land 1 and 2 would be a great package for Mario Advance 5. Capcom is giving their GB Mega Man games this treatment, why not the last two 2D Mario Games that have yet to see a release on the GBA?

Mario Land 1 is one of my favorite games of all time. I can play through that one again and again. It's even better if you find the rom of the Japanese version 2 of the game which is quite a bit harder than the regular US release.
I forgot one element that would make me buy a re-skinned NES gbasp, it will never happen but this is my idea - does anyone have or have seen the old Nintendo Vs System GAME & Watches? It was a game and watch wide screen that opened up and had two controllers inside for two player games. if the control area of the NES skinned GBASP detached and you could hold a mini looking NES controller, I woul buy it in a second. You should have the ability to keep it connected as well just like a regular SP, but for playing, on say an airplane fold down table or whatever, it would rock.
But they wont do it, and I wont buy one, but it's a great idea that they had originally, and they should try it again. ramble ramble ramble...

I might pick one up, since I don't have an SP and my normal launch GBA's screen is scraped all to hell.

I won't get one cause this totally contadicts what e-reader was supposed to be. Now that they are releasing old titles this way, it's almost guaranteed that the e-reader is history, and that upsets me.
Sometimes Nintendo really drops the ball on some great products, and it looks like the e-reader is going to be one of them. :(
