Gamesarefun (http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=792) and Magicbox (come.to/magicbox) are both reporting rumors of the GBA release:

"Treasure revealed new info on Guardian Heroes Advance for GameBoy Advance, the game is not a remake or port of the Saturn version, instead it is a successor of the game with original content and new characters. Guardian Heroes Advance is scheduled to release in Japan on September 16."

:eek 2: :eek 2: I hope this is true. This is one game that I've been looking for an update / sequel for.

I wonder if the cover art will look good if it makes it to the US ;)

That would rock. So many great GBA developers keep going under, it seems like hardly anybody is staying around long enough to really dig out A-list material. It's great to see Treasure hitting the 2D scene again (Astro Boy is pretty cool).

yeah heard that at insertcredit.com
this will rock
At least one(treasure) developer uses the gba for what it's here:
to reanimate the great 2D-action titles 8and guardian heroes is one of them)
can't wait to play it on gameboy player
:D

Personally, I hope they make a new one built from the ground up for GBA. Then again, I'm just totally turned off from ports since that's basically 70% of the GBA library. Oh well, either way this is good.

I only imported the saturn version less than a year ago, what a great game -

would be nice if this was a Sequel, though I wouldnt mind if it was a port since my japanese isnt good enough for me to have understood the story from the first one.

I hope that this is the first of a few key saturn ports to gba. I know I dont even need to say it... Radiant Silvergun Advance? ^_^*

It is a new game, it isn't going to be a port or conversion of the Saturn version.

sweet, this goes back to the findings of ~a year ago. Someon on the Treasure messages boards posted about them making an new GH. One of the mods there deleted it......twice

sweet. I have never played the original because I cant find it anywhere, but it is deifinitely one of the top games on my to play list. Therefore, I will definitely play the sequel on GBA.

Bit pixelized compared to the original, but actually not a bad translation, heh! They need to do something about that title though! Heh, Game Boy Advanced anybody? :P

Ahem.

BOOYAH!!

I've been wanting to play this game for a while, but a lack of a Sega Saturn has made that somewhat impossible. I'll probably get the original someday, but I gotta make it a note to pick this one up. :D

This reminds me... I heard long ago that a GBA port of Radiant Silvergun was being considered for development... hmm... I don't imagine the graphical quality will be of the same caliber, but it would be a neat idea nonetheless.

And on one more note, there should be a compilation of Treasure's finest games, preferably for the PS2. I'm drooling at pipe dreams, but dammit, I can sure hope. :)

I'm impressed, though the three selectable characters look a bit boring.

By the way, Namakoteam (http://www.namakoteam.com/) has a scan (http://www.namakoteam.com/images/agh.jpg) from a Chinese magazine that provides a few more screenshots of Guardian Heroes Advanced. The game's 4-player mode apparently features some familiar faces from the original Saturn title.

I really hope you'll be able to use Serena in the regular game. That green-haired princess-knight was easily the best of the GH cast.
