Well, you may have seen my thread asking for advice on how to become unbanned on eBay... the following is the response I recieved from them today:

Hello,

Thank you for inquiring about your eBay suspension.

Your eBay registration has been suspended indefinitely with no plans for
reinstatement. Our records show that this account is directly related
to other suspended accounts (the related user ID?s should be cited in
the suspension notice sent to you originally). Members who are
suspended are prohibited from registering new accounts with eBay, or
using any existing accounts. eBay reserves the right to suspend existing
accounts, as well as new accounts registered by anyone in the same
household of a suspended user, or by any other associates of a suspended
user.

You are prohibited from registering under a new account name or using
eBay in any way.

If you feel we have made an error you may appeal this suspension by
replying to this message. Please be aware that your appeal will likely
not receive a response unless you are able to provide an adequate
explanation as to how this account is not related to the user ID?s cited
in your suspension notice.

Best wishes,

Patrick Gorman

Why can't they speak English?? They say that user ID's have been cited in the original suspension email... no user ID's were cited, they just simply said I was suspended for "Mod chips, boot discs, game enhancers"

Now I'm suddenly suspended indefinitly? O_O wtf..

Does anyone have any advice on what I should reply with??
I was thinking something along the lines of "There were no user ID's cited, please explain" - but as he says, unless I am proving that I am unrelated to these uncited user ID's which I don't know, I won't get a response...

ARGH!

First off....why did you have to start a new topic for this? Why couldn't it just be posted in the thread you originally started?

Well...looks like your screwed. That's about all there is to it. They said that your other user ID's SHOULD be cited...not that they we're. Just be sure to question them on this. I also believe that when eBay "banned" you that it was implied that you were "suspended indefinately"...it is the same thing with a different wording isn't it?

Anywyas, other than that, It looks to me like there English is fine. You just have a problem comprehending them or wanting to accept the fact that you've been royally screwed.

I agree that they speak English well enough but man I wish they would get to the point! I contacted them about the guy who was selling a picture of a crap ton of games and systems and they wrote back with:

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to alert us to this listing.

I have investigated your report regarding item #4161905800, and can
understand how this would be troublesome.

Please be assured, if a violation of eBay policy has occurred, we will
take the appropriate action in accordance with our site policies. Such
action may include issuing a warning, temporary suspension, indefinite
suspension or terminating the membership.

I have noticed that this auction has been taken off the eBay website.

Due to eBay's Privacy policy we are unable to provide information
regarding the details of this item or another user's account. We are
equally concerned about violations on the site, and will thoroughly
investigate each report we receive. However, the details of our actions
cannot be disclosed with third party members. Please remember that this
is for the protection of all eBay users.

Why couldn't they just say "It's gone now. Thanks!"

It sounds to me from that message that you wrote to eBay inquiring about one user ID, but that may not be the one they had the actual problem with? Does that make sense to you?
