SNES with no color

i went to play my snes the other day and when i put a game in, sometimes it will just be black and white, or it will flicker a little color every now and then. this is the same snes that i've had for years and it just started doing this. i tried several games with it and all of them do the same thing. anybody have any ideas on how to fix this or is it time to throw it away?

Take it apart and try using it without the metal RF shield. It may be shorting the board somewhere.
