I actually got a chance to read this magazine. Barnes & Noble sells 'em, but they are maybe an issue behind. I just picked up Issue 2. It's pricey ($11 cover price) but you get a pretty meaty retrogaming magazine along with the software disc. Issue 2 had mostly classic remakes and emulators, but some of the games I've played thus far are pretty cool. The Spy Hunter clone (can't think of the name at the moment) is 3D but is more like the classic than the Midway remakes.

One of the really neat things for me is the European perspective on gaming.

You'll find a lot of people then bypassed console gaming completely in the 80s. Spectrum, C64, ST, Amiga, BBC even... they were pretty much stables in households. Sure some kids got NES, SMS, even a Megadrive, but console gaming post 2600 didn't really take off here once again on a large enough level until the SNES came out.

My issue arrived this morning, along with the free Namco TV system for subscribing (why are these things packed so well? grr!). Only had quick flick through, but the content seems to be improving.

Do any of the Brits know what happened to Edge Retro? There hasn't been one for awhile..

Edge's Retro mag is just one of the special issues they do it doesn't have a fixed release date unfortunatly they did get some really nice articles and interviews in those.
