Are there any glitches in games that literally drive you crazy?
For me, its in Aggresive Inline for Gamecube. The level with the big train station, there is one goal where you grind on this wire leading to a huge statue, and then grab on a pole on the statue, and then swing off it into a grind. It is actually pretty easy to do, accept for one thing: the setup for the statue is backwards, ie, the arms are positioned in the opposite way that they are supposed to be. I can't complete this goal because of this small glitch where the programmers were nice enough to switch the arm placement on me.
Share yous. I know there are other glitches like this that just drive you crazy.

I recently got Hitman loaded on my PC. First Level, as you head to the floor where you have to "Dispose of the orderly". Three times in a row I have fallen through the elevator floor, down into a grey abyss. He keeps falling,
and falling,
and falling,
and falling.

I'll never forget getting stuck in the famous black room in Super Mario 64.
I hated it so much, that and the camera for the game but thats not really a glitch.

It's not very annoying but my favorite glitch was with my Ultima Exodus cartridge. When I was a little kid I turned it on one day to discover my favorite character had been "magically bestowed" with 99 of every item, weapon and armour available in the game. o.O
Another really cool glitch was with a fucked up dump of Tales of Phantasia. Monsters would drop insane amounts of mystery weapons and when I'd identified them they turned out to be saint rapier's a VERY powerful late in the game weapon. Of course I was at the begining of the game so I was suprised at how easily I could kill everything. I eventually had to download a new rom due to a glitch that completely crashed the game, but I kept my savestate and my sword. (:

The worst glitch I can think of is in The Tick, for the SNES. Not sure if every copy is like mine, but everytime I got to the fight with Chairface Chippendale, the game would freeze after the battle was about 2/3 over, I guess. Got therre several times, tried using different tactics, avoided certain areas, etc. Nothing worked. What a pisser

Hmmm, first thing that came to mind was Lufia 2. That game is very glitchy in general (some being bad, some being kinda cool), but the scrambled graphics in that underwater temple are the most notable. I remember being so confused and upset about it (I thought something was wrong with my copy of the game), and I called Nintendo about it. I don't remember what they told me, but it wasn't anything useful. :P A few years later I found out online that EVERY copy has scrambled graphics in that area. Kinda sad, really... No one knows what that area is supposed to look like. Luckily, I was smart enough to try getting through that area despite the graphics long before I learned that nothing was wrong with my game.

I second the Metroid Prime glitch. It's happened twice.
All the glitches in Windows piss me off, too.
And, there's a glitch in my family. You can hear it when people open their mouths.
I found an interesting glitch in Fire Emblem, yesterday. The music changed, but an instrument got stuck. Until I entered the arena, a trumpet was playing a nice, high, abrasive fermata.

Woah! The mods PM you! You should feel priveleged!I should, but not when it's PunkOffGirl scolding me for pointing it out saying "think about how you'd feel if someone wrote such a post directed at YOU."
I only typed it out in FUN! I did it because I've seen people do it all the freaking time without problems, but I'm the only one who gets yelled at. And it's only in Off-Topic. So it must be her. She no like me. :embarrassed: :(
Which is weird, because everyone else loves me. I'm lovable. Oh well, her loss. :P If she reads this, I would be surprised if I DIDN'T get a PM about it.

I'm starting to find glitches in Champions of Norrath. A few times the game switched to the loading screen, & stayed there. Also, last night in Act III I cleared an island of slavers, & ran off to find more, but the screen froze & forced me to shut down.
Good advice: save early, save often.
Also, a few times in Primal (as Scree), I'd climb a wall- & kept right on going- up, up & away. Inexcusable.

Would it make you feel better if *I* yelled at you for hijacking this thread? ;)
My favorite is the "wall climb" glitch in Metroid...if you know what you're doing you can drop right though the floor or climb through the ceiling and finish the game in about ten minutes or so.

My least favorite was in Lament of Innocence... I went right through the floor once in the Garden. x_X
My favorites were the Super Metroid and Castletroid glitches. In all the games, you can use them a bit to your advantage to get to places early, although it's less of an accomplishment in short short games like Aria. But who didn't love gravity jumping in SM? Yeah, exactly.

I remember an odd one in MicroLeague Baseball which I had for one of my Atari computers...maybe the one I had for the ST? Anyway, they had a certain animation for a batter diving to the ground if a pitched ball got too close. Many times, somewhere during the game, everyone who threw the ball would go into that animation as they threw the ball.
What I want to know is what causes games to just freeze. It's happened to me from time to time on a number of systems and I could never figure out why.
One of my favorites remains Triple Play Baseball (several versions) when I would sometimes pinch-hit and my batter would come up and have his back to the plate. Of course, that game usually corrupted my saved files about half-way through the season and that was an unfun glitch...

*shrug* So be it, then. I PM'd you because I figured it was less embarassing and intrusive than taking over someone else's thread, trying to be considerate, because I DO like you. If you'd prefer I do it in public, then I will.
Personally, I find a big difference between scolding "look, you made a mistake and I'm pointing it out" type posts, and this thread, where someone posting about a glitch experienced a glitch, and it was turned into a joke.

I hated the Missingo glitch from Pokemon R/B mainly because I was always tempted to use that bastard.
Anything else? Hmmm...when I didn't have an NES, I had a bad ROM of Super Mario Bros. 3 that gltiched up in the second room in the first fortress, so that Mario is lifted up into the spiked ceiling. I hated that.
I think that's all.

One of the worst "Glitchy" games on PS has to be Chocobo Racing by SQUARE yep thats right the almighty Square made a true glitchfest with this release :P
you see my step-son plays this game more than any other on his old PS that I gave him and as I TRIED to play a few rounds with him I was truly shocked by the crappiness this game represents.
The control is almost non-existent since all a player can do is "ride the wall" and then the collision detection is almost as bad since you can virtually drive through walls as other obstacles.
A truly HORRID game by what so many gamers concieve as the gods of gaming SQUARE LOL
Oh yeah my step-son is only 6 years old and is actually very good at NHL2k2 on my DC among other games :)

I found a glitch in Tiger Woods 2003 for the Cube. It doesn't mess up the game at all, but it is really funny. I didn't try to get this to work and discovered it, but now I can't get it again.
When you make a long putt or a really good shot and your character screams, hit the replay button right when they are screaming, and then you will see them screaming while they are trying to shoot. I made a putt that was over 100ft, so he started cheering, and then I made it go into replay, and it gave me a small chuckle to see Tiger screaming while he was setting up for his putt.
EDIT: somebody said something about missingno in pokemon. I have r/b, and decided to bust him out for a match as long as I only used it on one of my carts and didn't even get it on the other cart. he sucks, but on a good note of it, it really pissed people off back in the day when we would play some 2 player battles and I would bust him out, leaving their cart all messed up. I'm a gameboy hacker, setting off virii in other gb games. Better watch out for me, hehehe.

the most annoying glitch of all time, which SOMEHOW made it through all the people workin on the game, is in Space Station Silicon Valley for N64.
In one of the levels, I cant remember what one, but there is a gold icon statue that you cannot get, because its transparent. Thus stopping you from recieving 100% in the game. man, did that piss me off.
