Like the Minibosses? Here's another band to check out: The Advantage.
You can check out their page, which is pretty confusing, at http://www.theadvantageband.com/ . Their label's page for them is http://www.buyolympia.com/killrockstars/sid=099578133/item=ger028 and probably helps a bit more.
The guy I do radio with (who, keep in mind, is not a gamer) reviewed the album here: http://www.indianapolismusic.net/pics4/aircheck_V.php .
My thoughts: I like it, but I don't think it's too far off from what the Minibosses do. It's a bit more indie rock than the 'bosses and it's done really well, so if you like one, you may like the other.
Anyway, just thought you'd all dig this.

Love the album cover design and the track variety.

Hey, this band played near me. Very cool stuff, and very talented guys. They dont use a keyboard or a moog. They play everything with guitars, bass, and drums...

I was thinking of posting about this band a while ago. Now I see that I was beaten to the punch. I can only agree with the sentiments of the thread's author. These guys are very much worth a listen. For those link-lazy members, the band consists of a drummer, a bassist, and two guitarists. They play great versions of NES tunes. The tracklist to their self-titled album is as-follows:
1. Mega Man II - Flash Man
2. Double Dragon II - Stage II
3. The Goonies II
4. Bubble Bobble
5. Bubble Bobble - Shark Skeleton
6. Wizards and Warriors - Intro
7. Bomberman II
8. Bionic Commando - P.O.W. Camp
9. Super Mario Bros. II - Underworld
10. Super Mario Bros. II - Overworld
11. Contra - Snowfields
12. The Legend of Zelda - Fortress
13. Batman II
14. Mega Man III - Dr. Wiley
15. Double Dragon II - Story and Boss Music
16. Castlevania III - Epitaph
17. Ninja Gaiden - Mineshaft
18. Super Mario Bros. III - Underworld
19. Blaster Master - Stage II
20. Ghosts 'n' Goblins - Intro
21. Ghosts 'n' Goblins
22. Castlevania - Stage III
23. Marble Madness
24. Metal Gear - Jungle
25. Contra - Boss Music
26. Castlevania III - Evergreen
The arrangements of "Super Mario Bros. II - Underworld," "Contra - Snowfields," "Ghosts 'n' Goblins," "Metal Gear - Jungle," and "Contra - Boss Music" are nothing short of greatness. There's a lot of life in all of the arrangements, actually. A CD very much worth being checked out by all of you. Seriously.

Some cool tunes in there. Best is Double Dragon 2 Stage 5.
I prefer the originals more tho, but it must have been cool to make this these tunes with real instruments :)

There WAS a thread about this. The Advnatage are very good, if you don't like them then you seriously are ignorant.
They have actually been around a few years longer then the minibosses too.
