What is "Shenmue The Movie"

I was in a store yesterday and I was looking at a box for Shenmue II for Xbox. The box said that it came with a special DVD called "Shenmue The Movie."

Is this DVD the same thing as the "Digest Movie" which is on CD#4 of Shenmue II for Dreamcast or is it something else entirely?

It's basically a 60 minute movie made up of all the cut scenes, and a few new ones, from the original Shenmue. It was made originally to introduce the game to people who'd not played the original allowing them to watch what was esentually the first game so they would know the back story before playing the second.

No it's not the same, the DVD disk on Xbox holds all 4 discs of the original DC version.

I'm still a little confused - the "Shenmue (1) Digest Movie" that is on the Dreamcast Shenmue II is only on Disk#4. What do you mean by the Xbox version being different by having all 4 disks?

on shenmue 2 the "digest movie" covers just disc 4 of the original game so people have an idea where shenmue 2 will be taking over...on shenmue 2 for xbox they took all the cut-scenes from all 4 discs of shenmue 1 so the players can get a bigger picture of where the game is coming from - so its like the "digest movie" but with more added to it
