I have read that the DC still has a big following there kinda like the turbographix-16/Turboduo did throughout the early 90's
Just think if the Dreamcast lasted this long in the U.S.

Well, most of those games are hentai (pornographic). I'm not sure what that says about Japanese Dreamcast fans...

How can you tell? O_O
And there's nothing wrong with a GOOD hentai game. LOL

They may be dating sims, but I wouldn't really call them hentai or pornographic... While Sega has allowed a lot more than the other mainstream console makers, you still won't see much other than slightly naughty material, ie maybe some bare breasts, butts, and nude poses where the genitals are somehow covered in the red label games (even less in the yellow, and pretty much nothing in green label games). Definitely nothing hardcore. That's where the PC Engine and the PC-FX come in. :P

Pervs! Perfect Cherry Blossom is a vertical shooter. I'm wondering if this "Cherry Blossom" is a shmup as well.

Unfortunately, unless you know Japanese, most of these games won't be of much value to you. Aside from the occaisional shooter like Psyvariar 2, Border Down, or Castle of Shikigami 2, pretty much all the releases are dating sims.
If you've never heard of a dating sim, they're essentially a text-adventure (often with much less interaction than "classic" text adventures) with some anime pictures (and occaisionally some pornography, depending on the game). You try to make the right decisions throughout the game to woo a girl and get her to like you. Most games have multiple girls, and multiple endings, and often good artwork (especially if you're into anime)... but the vast majority (even the pronographic ones) are extremely boring and monotonous by North American standards, occaisionally degenerating into exhaust-the-menu-options sessions. It's also worth pointing out that the games are very Japanese, so the characters will often react to things in ways you won't understand if you're not Japanese (ie, girls get embarrased at the drop of a hat, and other Japanese social faux-pas)... and you might want to be careful about the pornographic ones, since the Japanese have a lot of rather odd fetishes. Don't be too surprised if there is a rape scene, thinly-veiled pedophilia (private school my ass), or thinly-veiled incest (she's not your sister, she's your step-sister! Really!). Oh yeah, and the in-game text is always Japanese. There are translated dating sims for the PC that have been released in North America if you want them.

And to add on to what Ze_ro said, I confess I've been playing translated hentai games on my PC for several years now. A lot of them are junk, but there ARE a few very good ones, with interesting stories, charcters, endings, and gameplay. They have gotten a lot better in recent years.
My personal favorites are True Love, Season of the Sakura, Nocturnal Illusions, Divi Dead, Three Sister Story, and Snow Drop.

True Love is actually pretty darn entertaining, a former girlfriend and I spent a day going through all the possible endings. The hentai wasn't even a factor though it was there. If you have the ability to play it, try it out.

Out of the games I mentioned above, all of them -- and many others -- are being sold on JAST USA's website, at www.jastusa.com I've ordered from them before and they have been very quick and reliable.
I've also gotten a few 'interactive DVD's' from them as well. They are not games so much but more like Choose Your Own Adventure format, where you watch the story and then now and then can make choices. It will play on any DVD player, and they have no hentai.
The only game NOT in print still is True Love. It WILL run on Win XP just fine, however, and you can find it at Home of the Underdogs.

Oh, Adam, if you liked True Love, you'll REALLY like Season of the Sakura. It has about eight endings, some of them very hard to get, is quite a long game, and the new version will run in Windows XP. It also is very strict about hooking up with a girl -- you have sex with her, WHAM! Game Over! And those few scenes are the only sex scenes in the game (Well, there's one small exception for that). Makes for a very realisitic feel. :)

Wasn't that released in a collection just recently? Jast's Memorial collection or something?

Nope, JAST Memorial includes Season of the Sakura, Three Sister Story, and Runaway City. True Love has not been re-released, sad to say. I wish they would do that one as well. (JAST Memorial, on the other hand, was needed and a great buy by me, because none of those games worked in Windows XP/2000/ME and now they do. :D )
