Tons of games take place in far off years. Which one do you think will actually come true?

For instance, Vectorman takes place in 2049 and claims the world is nothing but a dump and we live on another planet. Do you think it could happen? Will the world be a dump by 2049?

Any other games have possibilities?

Robotron: 2084.

We've got 80 more years before the robots take over and enslave the humans. Better get it together, people. Otherwise, even if you manage to survive the robotrons, I'm gonna have to turn you all into "5000"s.

In Crystalis the world ends in 1999 8-)

I think it's plausible.

I'm all for 720, a world with lots of skateboarding, futuristic cars and killer bees.

Tass Times in Tonetown would be cool as well.

Zombie Nation. Giant severed samurai head floating around shooting eye lazers and saving people as they jump out of windows.

I just saw a Lavos spawn the other day at the bus stop. It asked for a light, so I naturally cast Flare on it. Then it kicked my ass because I burnt its shell. I retaliated by taunting it for failing in 1999. We made up and went out for drinks later.

Shadowrun, soon we will be jacking into the web from every street corner with our decks, and hacking major corps, as well as carrying shotguns and killing undead in abandoned houses for extra cash 8-)

I agree with Chrono Trigger--you know, where the apocalypse comes in 1999, and in 2300 the world is just a wasteland.

Deus Ex

Seriously, though, nobody cares about a "true" or "realistic" future. They want a fantastic future, an Unreal future - and they want to play around in it and do things that they can't do now.

damn you took my post :o anyways, i think Deus Ex is probably the most accurate.

if we are talking about an imaginary future, i think Xenosaga would take it. space will be overrun by Gnosis. you know there is real life Reallians so that might not be far off either hahaha...

I would say that Pac-Man 2 has the most accurate future, but I DID see a train the other day... O_O
