Brand new, straight from the local convenience store, comes a small stuffed DK. Seems legit (has a couple of Nintendo tags), it even has the red DK tie.

All this for a mere $5.99. I think that the Dust Puppy will have a new companion at work!!!

You speak of a cute cuddley mascot yet you provide no pictures?

Shame on you :(

Or... Congrats! :)

Did they happen to have any other characters there?

No picture because no camera!

I know there's also Mario (a friend of mine picked it up not too long ago, from the same chain of convenience stores, and it looked 100% Mario).

Made by Kellytoy: http://www.beanpals.com/nintendo.html (my DK is the 9-inch version)

Couche-Tard (which has a near monopoly on convenience stores in Quebec).

I have the 12 inch mario one. You can get these on ebay pretty easily. I usually see at least 10 auctions a week for either one or the whole set.

What stores have these, besides the one that was already mentioned? I would like the Donkey Kong and Mario ones, but not Wario. He's a fugly mofo.

I'm also interested in hearing about a cow that was recently adopted by one of the board members...

(:

The Harvest Moon cow was orginally avaiable for preorder with the PS2 HM game "Save the Homeland" and was recently rereleased with the Gamecube's "A Wonderful Life" and according to my seller on ebay may have also been available with "Friends of Mineral town" GBA.

In addition to Milky ( :P ) I also have Nall (preorder with Lunar Fan Art edition), Moogle, Vivi, and Jogurt (sold by Sega direct in Japan)

I also have a Sonic from Dennys and of course the Ghaleon puppet.

And that Donkey Kong rocks. I love his facial expression. (:

this brings up a minor point in "game hunting" technique

bored at the thrift, no finds? give the filthy stuffed animal bin a checking out.

really bored? check the linens section for pac man, zelda and mario sheets.

super bored? never know when a pac man glass might turn up in the dish aisle.

beyond bored? kiddy book section might have a mario comic book

ultra bored, like when you shop with a woman who insists on going thru the entire clothing section...

check out the purse/back pack area for system carrying cases, check out the hat section for pac man knit hats.
