I had a query about this in relation to one of my auctions - for UFO2 for the PS1. I have no idea, so I couldn't give a very good reply. But I would be interested to know if there are any ways ..

.. and also, if there is a way, would it work similarly playing for US / Jp PS1 games on a UK PS2. If I could just get Silhouette Mirage to play on my UK PS2 ...

Anyone got any help for me?

I'd like to know this, too. I have so cool shooters that I bought in Scotland (PAL) that I can't get to run on my old PS1.

Someone help us!

This will probably require ripping the game, using a PAL to NTSC patch on the image, and reburning it to a CDR. Of course, PS2s can be a bit picky about PS1 CDRs in my experience. But once you've got that done, use your preferred PS1 import/backup booting method. This is exactly how I got my copy of Beatmania European Edit to work on my PS2, and it plays fine (although the image is a bit too large for the TV, and a few scanlines are lost at the top and bottom).
