is there any way to shorten my cdx loading times? it takes up to 15 seconds of loading time between stages of SONIC CD.

Here´s the story. found my cdx on a broken discmans pile at a flea market.
it had minor scratches , 2 missing screws, the cd door had to be opened by hand and a missing battery door. Price? USD $9.00. :eek 2:

after cleaning and armor all it looked fine, so i pluged a sega PSU rated
10v .850 A and it worked! game cartridges run fine but cd's have some trouble loading, it got somewhat warm with that PSU.

Does anyone know the part number of the original ac adaptor?
Is there any way to fine tune the cd (laser) unit?
where can i find the owners manual for cdx?

Thanks a lot. even though it burns tomorrow i have had the pleasure of playing my own CDX! LOL

1. it may be the same as a standard Genesis/Mega drive 1 PSU, not sure on that though.
2 you could try cleaning the lens with some alcohol based cleaning fluid.
3. owners manual can probably only be found in the box set of a Mega CD so you will be paying a lot for that.

it has a lot of stuff thats wrong with it so im willing to bet that a hard knock has mislined/damaged the reading components slightly. it has screws missing? it might have been tampered with or some fuses replaced. It sounds pretty bad if you have a friend who is into restoration go see him or her about it thats what i always do. 8-)
