Really, really fucking rare. I'm fairly sure there are two models, Racermate I and II, and a regular and pro setup. Still digging. Consider them as rare as Outback Joey and MBR/SR.
Get it off your uncle, preferably for free. :D

There are also two different cartridges for this game. One is in a regular Tengen cart and the other has that weird handle thing on top. My copy is the former.

he paid $1200 for it(new with the system), because hes a ironman triathlete. doesnt want to sell yet, but im working on it. hes had injuries of late and may not be able to train anymore. what sucks is when i asked him about selling his, he said "damn, i wish i wouldve known you wanted one, i got mine repaired for free by the company when i bought a replacement system, so i just gave it to a guy at work...i dont think hes ever used it"
but the guy has changed jobs since then...
i have the outback joey system already(cpmplete), i see the computrainer system more often than outback joey though...its just really expensive.

The Genesis equivalent of Mountain Bike Rally/Speed Racer - an exercise game of sorts. No one's completely sure it was released. The cart came with a harness type Genesis system, modded to work with the cart. The cart itself will not work at all on a normal Genesis.

the heartbeat personal trainer system comes with a heartbeat genesis(a genesis knockoff that has a rubber coating), a pulse monitor and a split controller(with d pad on one saide and buttons on the other) so it can be mounted to a treadmill and you could play while excersizing. the outback joey game is designed so he runs up a hill based on your target pulse rate. go above or below the target rate and joey slows down. kinda cool...
mine came from a guy who said he got it from his buddy who worked at a radio or tv station. they got it as a demo so they could review it and chose not to. mine has a box, instructions for the game and system, the system, pulse monitor and split controller.

Tell me, i'm working at collecting every Sega Genesis game released in the U.S with the box and manuals and i've laready decided not to bother to hunt down the blockbuster world championships 2 cart but if i do find it it would just be a bonus that i didn't have planned. In order to have a complete genny collection would i need to aquire this Outback Joey? I'm leaning towards no because it never really was released and its pretty much a proto which i am not collecting.

thats up to you...your collection..
i found this one cheap and had never heard of it...i just bought it cuz it sounded cool. i found out it was rare after i owned it for a year or more and it was listed as a 10 in the DP guides.
