View Full Version : My first NPB...what do I do now?

Well, some dude won one of my auctions and I guess he has decided he doesn't want to honor his bid by paying me. It's been 1 month now, I've given him several payment reminders and other e-mails and I have not received one single response back.

What are my options and how do you handle this? Do I hit him up wth some hard negative feedback and then file the NPB report on him, or vice versa or what? What do you usually do with the non-payers?

Should I wait longer? My auction clearly stated payment was due within 10 days after the end of the auction. How long should one wait?

Thanks for any help, Dave.

File the NPB and forget about it. eBay will refund your fees and you can relist it. I would not leave a real harsh neg, just "never recieved payment" or something like that.

I don't think that anyone cares too much what you actually say in your feedback. Just leaving a negative is bad enough for most people.

But if he stiffed you I'd leave him a negative myself. A deal is a deal.

Thanks. That's what I will do.

Won't he then leave retaliatory feedback?

If a guy stiffs me I'm not going to worry too much about getting retaliatory feedback. Yeah it sucks but I think that most intelligent bidders can see when this happens. If someone deserves a negative from me then they're going to get it

The NPB report and the Final Value Credit are seperate steps. You file the NPB report first, then have something like 10 days to also request a Final Value Fee Credit.
I'd file the NPB report first, and if you get no further response, leave your neg and request the FVF credit at the same time.

anagrama is right on the money.

You have to file the NPB alert first. This will send another invoice to the buyer telling them to pony up.

After 10 days, you can file for a final value fee credit, you eat the listing fees though =/
