Among a bunch of other good games I picked up An atari 2600 copy cart, Atari age rates it as an R 10 , now I can't really see an accessory being in too much demand so i'm guessing it's like finding a game action replay for nes. I vaguely remember seeing one on e-bay about a year ago, any info about this guy would be helpful, thanks in advance

Darn, did a little research and it turns out it's just a piece of the entire unit that actually copied the games, sounds like a damn cool accessory, any demand for these blank copy carts though, and were they ever sold seperately?

Yea. These things have some demand. It is a Yoko, correct? I have teh actual GameCopier (in box, thanks to Joe). I would love to have a blank cart. I believe Atari2600.com was charging $55 dollars a blank cart. These aren't easy to find, but not a 10. Probably a 7.

Game copiers, waaa, waa.

OK, so the Yoko one is the easiest to locate, as a large stock of them was available inthe last 10 yeasr. The carts for those shouldn't fetch more than $25. Often less.

Unimex is in between in rarity, I think. Still, carts only $25 or so, often can be had for less. I mean, how many blank copy carts does a guy need?

The others (Homevision and Vidco) are rather unusual, fetching more boxed, and loose only worth maybe $25-$50. Both came with games, and Homevision had a nice plastic case for the copy carts.

The really important information is, which systems are rewritable? If memory serves, one or two are. Otherwise, you write one game on it and you're stuck, unless you clear the eprom with UV or whatever.

Yoko.. no I don't believe so, this one was made by vic 20, I couldn't find a scan of a blank cart and should probably provide one to their sight, here is a link to the model I'm talking about

That's the vidco. If you found it complete, it's a nice score. I don't know what the loose carts run these days. I would guess $20-$40 depending on the source. Atari2600.com is a great shop, but their prices are sometimes a premium.

Loose, it's nice, but it was sold as a generic copy set as well in some countries. Apparently, much more common in AUS than anywhere else, but still unusual. I paid $100 for my complete set, and I don't feel half bad about it. You might get less from a normal person.

wait... So there are these blank 2600 carts right... and you take a normal game, stick it in the copier thing, then take it out, then insert the blank cart in and now you have 2 games?

Ian, Thanks for the heads up, it is loose unfortunately but in good shape with no writing on the label, still cool to find considering my rarest atari find in the wild thus far has been a panda r6
