I have a Genny cart with a dead battery. Would anyone here be willing to replace it for me? I have no supplies and I'm sure it would be cheaper to have someone else do it. I pay cash! 8-)

I can, for $10CDN (including the battery) plus actual return ship.
You may very likely find someone closer though. I'm in Canada.
Good Luck!

May I inquire as to what the game's title is? If it's a first party Sega game there's a good chance they just went with flash rom.

Actually, I was hoping I didn't have to say what game....it's kind of embarrasing. :embarrassed:
Anyway, it's NBA Action 95. It's like, my favorite basketball game ever. Seriously. No, stop laughing asshole. Really, it is. (There goes my credibility as a reviewer)
It definitely has a battery as I opened it myself, but now it seems to holding my saves. I lost everything last week but now it seems to be holding again. Maybe I'm good to go again or it was a glitch which this game is famous for. :hmm:

Eh, I like Amidar 2600 and Knuckles Chaotix, it's no big deal. You could have simply confirmed peeking inside though, it suggests a latent desire for some ridicule. :P
Sounds like your battery is on its last legs, what's happening is its charge dies out when you leave the cart alone for a week or longer (or sooner) and when you go to play it, the electricity running through the board gives the cell a little more life to hold a save. This isn't a practical option though, I'd suggest getting it replaced eventually.

try going to your local electronics repair shop and ask them im sure they wont charge much and it'll probably take like 5 min's or so :)
