DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball

You ever have a game that you're SURE that you're not going to like or will only play for a few minutes and then to your shock and horror find that you're actually ENJOYING the hell out of it? I have to admit that since I got my XBox a few days ago I've spent the most time playing this one. :embarrassed:

What can I say? It's fluff, but it's FUN fluff. LOL

The graphics are very nice, the music is decent, the volleyball games are quite fun and hard to master, the casino games are good as well, and the girls are nice to look at. ;)

Even though I also got Shenmue II, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Gunvalkrie with the system, this was the first game I tried and it's actually the one that I've been working on, trying to master the volleyball games. The controls are my only gripe -- sometimes my girl will jump at the ball as soon as it comes over the net without me even touching a button, which of course means it fails to go over and results at me cursing at the screen. :roll:

I just wonder what else there IS to this game. I mean, you play games, you win them, you buy items and swimsuits in the shops, you find items to give to girls so they will partner with you.....and that's it. Is there something deeper here I'm missing? :hmm:

Still not a bad way to kill a few minutes. 8-)

If you think the controls in DOA Volleyball are unwieldy, just wait until you try Gunvalkyrie... O_O

Anyway, you might want to give Outlaw Volleyball a go, too. It reminds me a lot of Beach Spikers on the Cube. Of course, the women aren't as hot as those in DOA. They're more like Jerry Springer guests than supermodels. Still, I like it and would suggest picking up the $4.99 Red Hot game because it is (1) a Blockbuster exclusive and (2) a good way to try before you buy the big 'un...

I hate how horny American guys act about this game. Either play a real hentai game or shut up about this softcore crap. Granted, I'm ignoring if it actually plays well or not because I personally haven't played it, but ugh... the concept and appeal factor of the game is retarded. The chicks still look totally plastic and freaky (I'd prefer well-drawn anime, at least then it's not trying to be realistic) even if the technology has come a long ways since the days of Bubble Bath Babes. The commericial for the game told me all I needed to know about it and the typical fan of it...

So, uh... yeah. This random rant wasn't directed at anyone, just so nobody gets upset. o_O

Tried the game.

The volleyball wasnt quite at the "damn thats fun" level.

I thought the game was somewhat funny untill i made a selection and the girl i picked started modeling near the pool.

I couldnt stop laughing for a good 10 minutes. LOL


No offence to its fans....but this game is hilariously silly.

I liked it for a little while, sheerly for the collect everything feature. Only problem is that you in theory need to do it for every girl, and that got me mad, instead of it saving to a "general" closet. I wanted to play using the different characters, only to find that they dont share unlocked items. I sucked at the volleyball, I couldnt keep the timing, and i just gave up, so I became a master at the jumping game, and earned my money that way to buy stuff.

Not the best game for the Xbox, but by far its not the worse, and some of the sun effects are pretty cool too.
