Looks like it's finally going to happen. I figured that M$ dumped their sports lineup becuase of this move. Why compete with such a huge sales juggernaut?

That's the best gaming news so far this year. I can't wait for the next Fight Night...

Not quite, MS actually pulled a Sony 989 move. Stop for a year to try and let the development team catch its breath and not put out another horrible game. With the exception for Links which is only ok, and Top Spin which is good, all of the MS sports titles have been craptacular. Thats why MS aquired the development team to poor 3DO's High Heat franchise. There is suppose to be a complete restart this next year, with revamped games and blah blah for the entire line.

this should be interesting, last year becuase of the live boycott/lockout issue, ESPN football outsold Madden on the XBox, will everyone return to madden this year?
then again, i dont see why im caught up in sales numbers drama

I would hope it's because NFL 2K4 is a much better game than Madden, actually. I also think Xbox fans were probably pissed at EA's strongarm tactics.
But you're right - everyone will probably switch back to Madden this year, thus giving EA the coveted "spoiled brat" award.

AWESOME, now I can play....sports games....online....oh and whatever the hot license is at the moment, I'm sure they'll let me play 2 player co-op on that as well.......hooray!
I could care less for EA, but them doing this gives me one less bullet in my "Hate EA" clip. EA is to games what Initech is to bank software.

I'll just keep playing both Maddan AND ESPN Football, thank you very much. :D
