Check the bdding history. This is a veritable advertisement for sniping.

I can't blame these guys for paying that much for BBSB; I would be if it was the last game I needed for 5200, too.

Still, stop the bidding war you idiots!

Idiot A: I'll bid $1 over you.

Idiot B: Now I'll bid $1 over you.

Idiot A: Dangit, I was outbid! I'll have to bid $1 over you.

Repeat ad nauseum.

You'd think that "Stampznthingz" would know better with a rating of 483.

Seriously. I knew to stay the hell away from that auction when I saw those two going nuts. Ah well.

its pretty funny that the people in the bidding war didnt even win. Maybe just one person driving up the price?, or maybe to make a sniping advertisement?

I've been in bidding wars before just for fun. I find something that I want, I know the value of, and know I don't need, but can afford if I really need to. I put a bid in, and then if somebody outbids, well, the rest you guys know about.

Yes, I know, I am evil for driving up the price, but its fun when you are bored. I never go over a certain amount (basically once it gets to the max I will pay, I stop bidding). I am smart about my fun though, I don't do it with rare items or things like that. I always do it with very common items that I could care less whether I win or not.

The 5-minute until auction closes bidding wars are the funnest, because you have no clue how high the other person is willing to go up. Now that I think of it, the max I have ever done in a bidding war was probably around $15-$20.

That isn't a horrible price to pay for BBSB. That is one of the games that I really want for the 5200, but I'm not about to join a bidding war to get it. I swear, stampznthings and jerseydevil were going crazy over that.
