Want to buy Replacement PS2 DVD laser

I know some guys repair PS2 on this board. I was wondering if any sell the replacement laser only. If not does anyone know a place on the internet where I could buy one. I see alot of refurbished ones on Ebay but I would prefer to buy a new one from someone on the board.

Make sure you get the right version for your PS2.


The lasers are also tuned to each unit. Move the laser to a different unit, and it's not tuned for that system. A good compatible laser should work in it regardless.

I could likely repair the one you have (would need more info), for about $50, but there would be return shipping on top of that. I don't sell parts. Too much can go wrong on install for me to be comfortable selling parts. I have no 'new' parts anyway. I doubt the claims of anyone who isn't SONY who does have 'new' parts.
