The first Metroid Prime is and excellent addition to the series even though before its release I was skeptical to say the least.
So any news on the new MP is good news to me :D

Hmm, multiplayer is an interesting idea, but if the control is still the same, nobody will take it seriously as a genuine PvP FPS. Now, if they give it a coop mode, then that's different.

Good question. I'd say "Metroid: Echoes" is the least clunky of the suggestions you've given. It's not good to split a series in twain like this...

I guess they thought Metroid: Echoes didn't sound fancy enough. It does sound a bit odd without the "Prime 2" in there. Well, they've got a while to change the name, heh. I'm betting the title will be in ye olde title/subtitle format. Sort of like how we have Metroid: Zero Mission, with Zero Mission being a subtitle, I guess.

I'll probably buy Prime 2 games before another "old style" games; they've been getting on my nerves recently...

eventhough nintendo power is a big pile of crap the new issue (just got it in the mail today) has a number of screenshots for the game in there sneek peak at E3. There were also some screen shots for the new mario game, which looks waayyyyyyyy rad.

Yummy... new Metroid... the screenshots look juicy. It looks like you have to fight a Chozo at one point... maybe it's not a Chozo, perhaps it's a Torizo, their evil cousin. And what the hell is that three-headed worm thing? Looks like a recipe for disaster from this standpoint. I'm definitely snagging this in the future, m'kay? :D

That reminds me - I've still got to finish Metroid Prime first (I know, I know - what can I say, I got distracted).

I'm hoping they have two player co-op ala Halo, although it doesn't sound like it.

(And, for the record, I *like* the name Metroid Prime 2: Echoes...)

Personally, I'm not wishing for a co-op mode. If they wanna do multiplayer, fine... but no co-op. Sure, it works for other games like Halo, but this is Metroid. Metroid has always been about isolation and lonely exploration... going it alone... it's all of them versus just you.... that kinda thing. Having another player in the mix would ruin the atmosphere and feel of Metroid.

Speaking of which, did anyone get the Family Guy season 3 Dvd's? They're awesome, and they have a never-before-aired episode, When you Wish Upon a Wienstien.

But back to the topic. Doesn't "Metroid Prime: Echoes" sound better? They don't really need the 2 in front, do they?

METROID has always been about fighting aliens all alone in a desolate space surrounding
but then again I couldnt care less about multiplayer mode in my Metroid but maybe thats just me and red warrior :D
