Does anyone here store there systems in an attic? Im moving into a new apt in a few days, and I have all my systems boxed up that I dont actually play but still collect, and I was thinking of putting them in the attic inthe apartment, but I got up there and its fairly hot up there. I live in Louisville, KY, and its only been about 70's on average right now, and the attic is still pretty hot. Is it a good idea to store these up there? I have about 25+ diff systems boxed up. Didnt know if heat would affect them that much. They are all in box's, with newspaper stuffing, sealed completely. Thanks!

Well I store my systems in my closet, my Atari and Intellivision that is. I'm planning on playing Atari, so I might take that out, but the Intellivision is gonna stay there. I wish I had a working Intellivision. :( I think only CDs will get effect with heat and such, but if it'z sealed, I think the heat wouldn't damage any system.

i have actually had plastic toys and shit from when i was younger that just got thrown in the attic melt together and get all mushy, and i live in Pennsylvania, which isnt the hottest state in the country. If you care about the system, I would keep it outta the attic.

i used to store my atari2600 carts in the garage in good rubbermaid containers and after a cold winter and a hot summer a lot of the activision games got a really bad case of"plaque" (where the stickers had glue bleed thru) also a lot of the carts had to have the contacts cleaned so i now keep the games in a rm temp closet

I dont usually put anything up there dont like the idea of spiders crawling all over my amiga 500, will have to seal them all up and throw them up there due to me not being able to walk around.

Storing stuff in your attic is about the equivalent of storing stuff in your car, below the back window.
Living in Michigan, the only bearable time to get into the attic is early in the morning. It's too unbearably hot in the middle of the day, and slowly cooling off in the evening.

I only have about 4 system or so and i generally keep those hooked up except for the Neo Geo cd which I rarely ever use. I generally keep all my games in the basement. I have this nice little kind of bomb shelter in the basement that I keep them in and the temperature in there is pretty nice. Not like that of an attic.
