I've just starting shopping for Sega Saturn stuff. I've got the Video Game Bible so I have some idea of what I should be offering if I'm buying something from another collector, but what should I expect to pay at a used game store relative to a price one would find in a guide? Considering a store has the overhead of employees and rent, I would expect to pay more. Also, because of the convenience of calling up a store and being able to run out and get something quickly, I'm willing to pay a bit more.

So, taking the above into consideration did I pay too much for the following?

Saturn 3d controller mint in box: $15 (Vid Game Bible Price: $5)
Saturn Orange Lightgun loose: $20 (VGB: $5)

I felt fine about the 3d controller purchase, given the superb condition of the controller and the box (both were like new) but the loose light gun for $20 has me feeling a little shafted.

I'm aware that both prices are WELL over what the DP Guide suggests, but are these unreasonable prices for a retail place?

Does anyone have an opinion about Gamefellas that might help me decide whether or not to continue shopping there in the future?

Thanks in advance.

Personally I've never felt "shafted" at any of the Gamefellas. You just need to shop around. Some of their items are a little on the high side, but you can sometimes talk them down a bit. I recently bought a NeoGeo CD at the Northcross GF for $75. I talked him down from $100. Ben at the William Cannon store is usually pretty agreeable and a is a nice guy to boot. As long as it isn't an unreasonable offer. Remember, they are there to make money and nothing beats being able to pay for an item and take it home. Nothing I hate more than having to wait 2 weeks for something I ordered.
