Haha, absolutely. My local GameStop is on the same street as the bus I have to ride to college. Temptation often gets the better of me. :P

Umm.....I once skipped religion class and bought Adventure ISland 2 and Bugs Bunny crazy castle 2 for my B&W gameboy. That was a long time ago.
........Does this make me a bad person? :(

Once, I left my GBA SP with FFTA in it at the arcade (I was playing DDR) and the arcade then closed. The next morning, I skipped two classes (due to the length of the drive) to be there when the store opened and retrieve it. As long as I was there, I played a couple Onis on the machine, too.

from K-12th grade, i only missed 3 days of school and all were bc i was sick and i did not go shopping or anything. as for college, freshman year i skipped quite a few classes, mostly to sleep, none to game. this year, i only missed a few classes and mostly just bc i knew we werent doing anything in them anyway. i guess that makes me a loser, but i dont skip school to much.

The closest I've ever come was one day in my senior year of high school, skipping my last class with a friend. We went to Game Crazy and played games for about half an hour. Didn't buy anything though.

I used to always skip school back in the day to play my games, I especially would always order used games threw mail order since it was cheaper back in the day well I got so good of guessing when they would come in that on the day I was expecting to get it I would skip school since my parents worked in the day and I would usually let a few of my buddies hang out with me and we would just be hanging out playing nes games till whatever game I ordered came in and it was pure gaming glory. I used to overdue it because the truent officer would always come knocking at the door and he knew I was home with all the other guys because he would just scream from the door I hear you guys you better come out LOL, Well this went on for months untill I guess he got fed up and decided to pay my folks a visit on SATURDAY HIS DAY OFF, Well soon after that my Ditching days were over for a while that was untill I got to highschool.....LMAO then it was all about comic and arcades and trips to funco land for neo geo games then of course there was the occasional rave or daytime Or trip to the beach with the local school hoochies. JOY........

Thanks

I've called in "sick" to work a couple times to stay home and play games and/or go shopping.

If and when Doom 3 is released I'm sure I won't be at work either. ;)

I've never called off from school to game or shop for games, but I have missed classes as a result of gaming too late the night before. Thank you, Goldeneye. Perfect attendance through High School, then when college hit, I missed a lot.

Never missed work on account of videogames, though. I've turned down offers to come in on my day off so I can stay home and play games, does that count?

OH yeah! Grade 9 mostly. The arcade(best in Grande Prairie) was real close to our school and more times than not we would go there for lunch....and not come back. I miss that arcade. That's where I played Halleys Comet, before I bought it. :)
As for skipping to buy games? Oh it happened alright, I used to work in a games store when I was 15. Skipped school to go to work...errr play.

I've gone game shopping while at work. One day I had to drive to an OfficeMax or something that was right around the corner from a local game store. So, I dropped in for a few minutes.
There is also a Gamestop on the way to a trophy shop I have to go to once a month or so for work, and I will stop in there if the traffic is light. Nothing like getting paid to further your hobby.

I've never skipped work to look for games. I have had a few extended lunch breaks though. I usually hit an EB Games nearby on Fridays. I did leave work once for about 40 minutes to pick up some games that were being held for me at a thrift store.

now school... well college specifically, I skipped a lot of classes mostly for drinking or playing hacky sack.

When I was a senior in high school I was enrolled in an "advanced calculus" class at the local college. This gave me a "get out of school pass" for the kids who worked 5 days a week, even though my class was only 2 days a week. I spent most of my senior year afternoons at the arcade making fun of the guys in suits with briefcases beating the stuffing out of what they were playing. Now 15 years later I go back to the same arcade and I'm the suit taking the extended lunch, whoopin' the classic retro machines.

I too used to work in a gamestore during my highschool years. I only went to three clases a day when I was a senior. I spent the rest at the gamestore.

I also would skip some fo grades 2-5 to go across and up the street to play arcade games at the local mall. I would also tell my parents I was"sick" to stay home and play new games when I was younger. Those were the days.

I have a stress problem. I got the shingles in 2nd grade! Alot of times it affects me physiccly, not angrily. So every once in a while I need to take a day off school. I usually spend those days in thrift stores and goodwill. LOL

I used to fake sick so I could stay home and play NES. And watch Gilligan's Island. Anything but school.

In college I often skipped classes, but rarely to game. I do have a fond memory of playing Resident Evil II when I should have been at my college job, though.

Now that I have a job with flexible hours, I'll often go home early to game. I"m also late for work sometimes because I've stayed up way to late the night before. A couple times I've went straight to work from an all-night gaming session.
