What controller do you think is the best to use, when playing emulators of classic systems on your XBOX?

I'm talking about systems like SNES, Genny, TG-16 and NES.

Obviously, when it comes to MAME on the XBOX, I would have to guess that a X-Arcade Joystick would be best.

But when it comes to the classic 8 bit and 16 bit systems, and playing them on the XBOX, what controller would be the best?

Mad Catz makes a controller for the PS2, called the "RetroCon", that actually looks very much like a old NES pad. But they don't currently make a XBOX version of the "RetroCon".

Of course you could get a PS2 to XBOX controller adapter, and then get a RetroCon, but then that might be making things more complicated then they need to be.

But I find it difficult to really submerse myself into playing classic 8 bit and 16 bit games on my XBOX, with a normal XBOX controller.

Any ideas anybody?

Come on guys, you have to have some ideas about this.

Check out this website http://www.sealiecomputing.com/retrozone

These people convert regular NES, SNES and Genny controllers for use on the PC. On another forum there is talk that this place might try to make some type of custom adapter for the XBOX, so that you can use actual NES, SNES and genny controllers on the XBOX too.

I recently emailed them, asking them to please do the same thing for the XBOX Emulation scene. I haven't heard back yet.

If you guys want to help the cause, then email them too. The more people that request this of them, the more likely they are going to figure out that there would be a pretty good market for this, and then we can play NES games and SNES games and Genny games on the XBOX using the actual real freaking controllers!

Here is the email....

I use a converter to use a playstation controller on the xbox because I like the pad on it. Plus there are plenty of buttons to set for other functions.

Where can you buy this convertor? I really like the dual shock and being able
to use it on the Xbox would make me buying a box much easier :-P

well, I bought mine on ebay, but you can get them al wal-mart and gamestop now. Should be around $10 and will let you use a ps2 controller on xbox and gamecube.

If you play the Emulators on your XBOX, then you should get the Mad Catz Retro Con for the PS2. I think it's $24.99, but you might be able to find it for $19.99.

This controller is for the PS2, but if you already have the adapter, then you should be fine.

The controller looks like a old NES controller, and the D pad is light years better than any D-Pads of the last 5 or 6 years.
