I just saw this on Lik-Sang while bored and browsing my bookmarks.

http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?products_id=4399

And it looked interesting. Cheap. Something I would like to import. Then I read further.

"Includes a randomly selected music CD and yogurt-flavoured candy"

Randomly selected? Why no option to choose what you want? I am very confused here. I would love to get all the ones I like, but I don't want to have to take a risk of getting the same thing over and over. What's the point of these things?

*sigh*

I mean, it looks like a neat idea. Question: 8cm, that's a Mini-CD, right? So I assume those boxes are real small. Still neat things to have. And music from video games rocks. Even if it's NES/Famicom sounds.

I would love to be able to choose what I want:
Super Mario Brothers
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Baloon Fight
Wrecking Crew
Ice Climbers
Lightgun Series (Wild Gunman,Duck Hunt, Hogans Alley)
Sports Series (Baseball, Tennis, Golf, Ice Hockey)
Robot Block, Gyromite
Legend of Zelda
Metroid
Kid Icarus

Basically, all but the Folk Tale games and the Marasame Castle disc.

Is Lik-Sang the one making it random? Or is it just generic packaging? All look the same?

Yes it's generic, there's no indication of what music CD is inside until you actually open it. Plus 5 of the 20 are harder to get so I hear (ie. rarer).

They're all in the exact same packaging. It's not Lik-Sang's fault. If you've ever bought gashapon toys (especially online), you'll know how this works.

It might be possible to buy a whole manufacturer's box of them if they packaged one of each different CD in a box. That's how some of these things work. You could then sell or trade the ones you don't want. Ask Lik-Sang before you fork over a lot of money, though. :P

Maybe I'll just skip out on these. They looked like something really cool. Especially being NES/Famicom music. But unless I can get all of them, I'll pass. Besides.. I'd want them to show off, but if the boxes all look the same, even though I knew there's a different CD in each, it'd look the same from the outside. I'll pass.

I wonder how the candy tastes, though. Never had Japanese candy. Maybe one day I'll buy one. Just to see what I get. You know, as a pack-in with something else I might buy.
