Not sure if thats how you spell it, sachen, sacen whatever lol. Theres a guy on ebay, (couldnt find the link =(..) ANyways he sells a hell of alot of them and I see them all the time, there usually adult titles, and he says he they work on his US toploader. Has nyone actually tryed these games on a toploader or a regular system? Has anyone ever purchased from this guy? I can NOT find these games that he is selling on anyways priceguide, rarity list, ect ect. Thanks!

The Sachen games, about 50 of them give or take, are certainly in DP's guide - some are rare, some aren't.
Most (if not all) will play in an NTSC NES with no problems, but it's still being strongly debated as to whether Sachen actually made a concerted effort at marketing to American consumers or if they were intended for one of the way-too-many Famiclones out there. They do use bigger NES-style cart cases, as opposed to the smaller Famicom cases.
Dunno what to tell you regarding value on these - if they're cheap and interesting to you, pick one up and try it out. Who knows?
Do be sure and invest a reasonable 25 bones in the one-and-only DP Collector's Guide, though - it's worth it for info alone. I know I've learned much from it... :D

Ahh Sachen. Tons of fun.
You're talking about NES-God. Or NES.God, depending on how he wants to spell it. He's good to deal with, as long as he isn't pissed at you. If you don't know who he is personally, then you're ok. ;)
These will work great on a US toploader, if they even work at all. Never tried them in a toaster, but I have a reason to break out my toaster now (Hehe), so I'll put some research into that. They are definitely NTSC though.
And when I mean, even work at all, I got some DOA Sachen carts. They arrived, and they don't work. Not from NES-God, and I'm sure he tests all the carts he sells, but when I got mine, Middle School English didn't and still doesn't work.
There are 65 titles, with the recently 'created' Huge Insect. You can find all these titles in DP7, intermixed with the US releases. The next edition will have, most likely, a Sachen separate section labeled as "Sachen Releases" or something like that.
Expanding on what Duncan said, it's a very hard case to include these as US released retail titles. Most of these popped up well after the NES's run closed out with Sunday Funday. Most of these were converted Famititles.
As far as getting them, work out whatever deal you can. The cheaper the better. I got all mine in one bulk lot ($6.50 per complete game), and if I didn't go this route, I would not have even bothered getting them at all.

If it makes you feel better, port, a lot of mine are DOA too. At least we got them on the cheap.
Also, in case I haven't, I'd like to formally apologize for infecting you all with the horrible Sachen Virus. The collecting world was a lot better when we just pretended they didn't exist.

You are talking about NESGOD or whatever..... I have had very good dealings with him. In fact he is a dp member and I would reccomend pming him here. He will cut a dp member a deal. I have gotten a few from him. My favorite having to be blastman a.k.a. rockman (megaman)
**I am sure its blast man or something close to that.**
I really would not consider them to complete the nes collection. But they are fun to have. ;)

Yea, nes.god is great to work with. I've bought a few Sachens off of him and they were in perfect condition. Just don't get on his bad side... :eek 2:

Sachen is a pain in the ass with toasers..
good luck getting the cart out without plyers! I have the pyramid sachen game as well as the AVE one. They're identical (except for a small bitmap that says the manufacturer on screen).
So who came first? AVE or Sachen with Pyramid??

Oh I don't care. ;) Any DOA carts for me have been covered on the working multis, so I can play the crap if need be.
No here's something interesting. I wonder what would happen if I sold my DOA Middle School English. It's arguably one of 20 or so that exist (I'm guessing). People begging for Sachen sets would need it... but would they buy it DOA? This could give us an idea once Panesians, NWCs, and eeprom/sram based games start to croak....

Gee Dave - I wonder what that could be??? LOL
By the way, I would LOVE to know how much it set you back (if you care to share privately...) :eek 2:
If not, that's cool too. Enjoy!

Are Panesians eeprom based??? I've never looked inside of mine, but I figured they were built the same as licensed NES carts. If they aren't, I may consider selling them soon .The main reason why I don't collect prototypes and eeprom carts is because of their short life-spans.

Since you know what I'm talking about, you know what I used as payment. ;)
Any panesian that's been opened up has had eeproms in it. So they will eventually be dead.
Oh, and here's a fun note. Last night, I did a gaming nite with a bunch of friends. They played Axis and Allies, and I brought my NES. So, of the games I brought, I brough Super Pang I. It worked in the past, but when I tried it, the NES wouldn't even turn on (top loading), and the cart got SUPER hot. ;D Go Sachen.

Damn, I had no idea. I think I may seriously consider selling them now. I just cant stand the though of owning something worth this much that might crap out on me any day now. Anyone interested in buying all 3 complete?

I dunno why, I picture the Sachen studio like the Korean Animation Studio in Clerks: The Cartoon.
Either that, or TheRedEye's theory is right: three guys in a studio apartment, drunk.

Actually, I don't know for sure - I'm pulling a Dr. Watson based on what I got out of another thread. If I'm right about your acquisition, I have no idea what it took to get it. :eek 2:

No need to jump the gun on this..
Many EPROMS have a minimum shelf data retention life of 20+ years. So you still have a few more years in them.
Also, the Panesian's have been dumped long ago. You can always get those dumps and restore the carts. Anyone good with a soldering iron and electronics, with the right equiptment, can remove the eproms, erase them, and reporgram them with the images (extra 20 years!).
I've done that with a proto I made from scratch.. very simple.

Heh heh. Which is why I put that "strongly debated" line in there.
I won't be jumping to get them in my NES collection, personally. :o
