Nintendojo has a preview (http://www.nintendojo.com/previews/GB/view_item.php?1082479115) of the upcoming Mario vs. Donkey Kong game. According to them, it seems to be more of a semi-sequel to Donkey Kong for GB (aka DK 94) than a straight-out remake.
The idea of having to pick up mini Mario toys on the loose is interesting. It seems that Nintendo went for the DK Country style for DK's design. Since it's only a preview, it is not said whether the early levels duplicate the original DK game, just like in DK 94.
Could it be that Nintendo is starting to come to its senses when it comes to GBA titles and start to make semi-remakes (ie. Metroid Zero Mission) instead of straight ports. Had Nintendo gone that route for its Super Mario Advance series (and don't say they did; there weren't enough additions to make them worthwhile at full price), I would have been more partial to shilling out big bucks for them.
