I'm pretty sure some folks fix these machines here in the US but I'd like to know what the general consensus on the best people to go to would be.

Somebody wanted to know at another forum, and I promised I'd see what everybody had to say for them.

Sadly I don't know any people that really do this anymore. I've had problems with the Duos and the cd rom units before and I've been able to fix them before. If it's something common like the lense being too far to the right it's pretty easy to fix yourself for a Duo.

Thanks! That's good.

I didn't realize it but the fellow may be trying to play Dracula X on a US Turbo Duo. Would it work if he got System Card 3? (questions questions... :P)

You don't need anything to play Dracula X on a U.S, Duo. Just play away!

...and TZD no longer repairs systems. They refer you to another site which takes forever to get repairs done.

I had a friend fix mine. He also modded it to play HuCards. :)

All Duos come with a built in 3.0 system card, so playing Dracula X isn't a problem. TZD no longer repairs system. That Retrogames site I've heard many bad things about that people sent there system to be fixed and never got them returned and they don't respond to emails.
