Is anybody else waiting for this to come out?
I have been asking about it at my local EB and Gamestop but they say that it cant be reserved :hmm: I know when they get one they will put one aside for me ;) But I wonder why you cant reserve it yet? Anyhow, I just got back from Gamestop and a clerk (who is cool) that works there gave me 1 of the only 2 RibbitKing demos for the Ps2 :D

Hmm.. well, you CAN preorder it on ebgames.com
It's freakin' TWENTY bucks more for PS2 than it is for GC. Damn.

You know the game sounded cool, and I'm always up for original ideas, but the demo was just plain boring to me. Not once while I was playing did I think the game was fun...hit the frog a couple times until he falls in the water (hole), snag bugs for extra points, no skill whatsoever needed. Everything was just flat.

Pre-order it at http://www.videogamesplus.ca as they are doing it for the same price as the GC version.

I'm not why there is a price discrepancy at some stores. At my Gamestop, it shows in the computer as being only be $20 for GC and PS2. Also, Gamestop for some reason doesn't take reserves on games that it considers to be a C title. You think they would want to take reserves on these due to the fact that they push preorders so hard.

I saw the preview on Xplay and I definitely gotta get it. It looked like a lot of fun, and very unique. Plus, the GC version is only $20.

I am definatly going to pick this bad boy up for the GameCube. It seems like such a twisted idea, and the animation (animal crossing similar) is cool.

When I first heard about it though I though it was more like FrogBall from Beavis & Butthead. How cool of a game would that be FrogBall: TRhe league. oh mannnnn. LOL

Just got it home...pretty fun so far, I need to get a new memory card to save. A little short on play modes, but it looks like it will hold my attention for a couple weeks.

The bonus disc (there is one in the PS2 version as well) seems to have animated movies that you unlock by playing disc 1...don't know if it is going to be worth the effort or not, but we'll see :)

If you want to check out their review of it, you can. Although, the actual episode won't air for another 2 weeks.

I was all over this back in April.

I did in fact pick up a copy for the Cube at the meager price of $19.99.

My cube version is sitting there sealed. I am caught up in so many other games that there is no need to open this one. I will soon though, looks like you guys have enjoyed it.

Yep, still enjoying it! It's about as deep as an empty wading pool so far, but I'm having a blast with it. It almost qualifies as a puzzle game, because you seem to do much better score wise by NOT aiming at the hole for every shot. By going for a row of bonus bubbles you can gain far more points than just taking an easy 2 on a hole. it's an interesting game to be sure.

If your area has ShopKo, the store should have 4 copies of each version for $19.99

Of course this information means absolutely nothing, but I thought I'd share my observations from this weekend's "Hunt for a GameCube copy of Ribbit King". While I have both systems that this was released for, I wanted to snag a Cube copy because I have a smaller library of games for it. Seems reasonable. Well, I went to four EBs, three Gamestops, two Targets, a Toys R Us, and a Best Buy looking for it. At the Best Buy, one Target, one Gamestop, and two EBs, I found the PS2 version. At only *one* Gamestop out of all those stores did I locate a GameCube copy - and they only had two. Now, this is purely speculation, but I'm thinking the Cube release might end up being a little tougher to find in the future. I see that many of those posting above picked it up for the Cube, though, so I may just be entirely unlucky in my search. Either way, fun fun fun little game.

I had trouble finding the GC copy in the Seattle Area. The gamestop people said that maybe two copies per console were sent to each store. Very fun game, kind of a cross between pinball, golf and whack-a-mole. very worth seeking out.

I know that I picked up the Cube version for two reasons. 1. The Cube is my "quirky" game system...stuff like Super Monkey Ball, Pikmin...Ribbit King seemed to "fit" the system better. 2. The possible "future rarity" tag...I was going to buy the game anyway, but I'd agree that the PS2 version is probably easier to find right now :)
