I've been collecting over 4 years now. I've never seen prices as high as they have been in the last 3 months on eBay.
The above is an example of an item that regulary sells for 50$ on this forum, and on eBay just 6 months ago!
For this kind of $$$, you can buy a broken one (~25$) and send it to anyone that has a copyNES (together with 100$) :D and they'll be able to reload the SRAM for you!

Yep, NES prices have dropped dramatically in the last 3 months. I used to get 50 for an NES system, last 4 I listed got 20-30. Loose popular games like Metroid and Kid Icarus used to get 8-10, last ones I listed got 3-5. But yeah, complete game prices are up.

I think the gap is widening for the price range between the (real) rares and the commons. The Panesians, for example, have gone for record highs recently while the more common stuff has dipped in price. Maybe people just got sick of getting ripped off and started researching a bit better.

Wow, that sucks for me. I sold mine 3 weeks ago for $55. Oh well.

I think alot of it has to do with the demand shift going into the newer systems: SNES and Genesis. I agree that the gap between the rare and common games is getting wider, but this doesn't seem much different than the way Atari 2600 games are now. I know I need about 30 boxes for my NES set and they are mostly R2 to R5's and they are cheaper than they used to be.
