Disgruntled download

Anyone else here find themselves downloading a rom or rom set from playagain) and try to open it up and find the achive empty?

I never downloaded anything from playagain but I've samilair problem with downloading rom from various other sites. Seem to mostly be GBA stuff that it happens to me for.

What do you mean, you just get an empty ZIP file or something?

I'm sure there was a thread that was sticky that contained links to reliable ROM sources.

I download it, it shows up and the zip file's empty. Been happening every other dl at playaction and I'm trying to get MAME roms I want so I can redo a cd. :(

I don't know what MAME uses for ROMs, but maybe this place might have what you're looking for.

No use. Ok here's what happens with Playaction.

I go to the page to download, it starts up in like 10 seconds. Downloads to temp internet files. When finished, Winzip box opens up with the contents. Sometimes NOTHING INSIDE, or the rom files are inside. Cut and paste zip file to rom folders in my MAME directory.

I've never had that problem before. Generally if there is something wrong with the zip it will give you some kind of message like the file is corrupted or something when you open or click on the file.

Well, happening to me and I'm getting frustrated trying to try games out. :(

Try saving the zip file to somewhere on your HD when you download (not opening it as it downloads) then opening it with IZArc:

There is not a zipfile (or any other compressed file for that matter) that it will not open correctly unless the file is corrupt.

BTW: Playagain? Why bother downloading from sites when alt.binaries.emulators.mame is just a few clicks away?? :)
