Just rented this today and I'm a little over an hour in. Just plain wow. I'm amazed this is a PS2 game. It's the first time in a LONG time I've been this impressed by a game on the system. Everything is polygonal and the epic feel is in every frame. The gameplay is exactly like the first 2 and life couldn't get better. This is the only series in this generation of consoles that I can say I've enjoyed every game. Of course, I am only an hour in...things could still go wrong, but I doubt it.

Anyone else working on this one?

I really want to play this, which is odd because usually i dont touch any PS2 game witha ten foot pole...But the game looks cool, and the Onimusha on XBOX was pretty damn cool(and much better than the ps2 version :) ). Also it has Jean Reno in it!!(My all-time favorite actor)

*crosses fingers* - here's hoping they come out with an XBOX version so i dont have to turn to the dark side to play it!

...Also i have noticed a few games have been using real actors in them lately, like jean reno, jet lee, peirce brosnen(spelling?), etc... Do you guy think this might be the next big thing for gaming? or just a breif fad?

He should be shot for being in the travesty that was Godzilla. ;)

Now, onto better things. 4 and half hours in. Simply stunning. The time travel is super cool. Puzzles are solved across time thanks to the warps. The cinemas are simply incredible. Storyline is staying firm even with the time travel. This is an immediate rental or purchase if you don't mind paying $50 for a game.

Damn you for reminding me he was in that god awful movie.
But anyhow Onimusha 3 looks amazing but I don't really have the money to thrown down for it right at the moment. If I buy a new game within the next few weeks it will be La Pucelle. I've really enjoyed every single game in the Onimusha series (Save maybe Blade Warriors and Tactics, which I won't touch with a ten foot pole). An xbox version of 2 and 3 would rock considering how much better Genma was compared to the PS2 version.

if that holds true shouldn't we execute bruce campbell for being in congo?

still omnimusha 3 looks hella sweet and the fact the soul controller is coming stateside...it's so tempting.

I remember when Onimusha 2 first came out and I was playing it on the demo machine at work. Absolutely fell in love with it, but didn't have a PS2 at the time so I bought Genma Onimusha instead. Now that I have the system though I should try out 2 again and look into 3. The Katana contoller looks so tempting as well but it's so fucking expensive. :/

Ok, just beat it. About 10 hours, needed a FAQ twice, once only because I'm an idiot. Excellent stuff all around if you don't mind your games being very easy. I only died twice throughout the entire game and that was within the first 2 hours. This is an absolute epic that simply must be played by anyone with the console. The extras are even better. There is a segment you can play that is kinda like a deleted scene. The archery mini-game is great and extra costumes are now mandatory. I got one of the weaker endings, but still make sure to watch after the credits. 4th sequel? Capcom said no, but the ending says otherwise!!!

Just bought it last night and I'm about halfway through (using your timeline). As soon as I find the right dragon horn for the blue room, I'll be back on track. Just in case, where did you find a FAQ for it?

I used the one on Gamefaqs. It's for the Japanese version, but the only major change is the location of the gernade gun. It got me through about 4 or 5 tough spots.
