I had the name and location of this store and lost it. It's an import game store that carries all the new systems. Any info would be appreciated.

Are you referring to "Multimedia 1.0"?

I keep hearing about that store, but I also hear that their prices aren't so hot. Any cheap collectors been there and can comment on the prices? I want to know if it's worth the time and money to get there (I'm in Brooklyn... but no car, and I frickin' hate public transportation [I already gotta suffer through 2-4 hours of it every school day just getting to Staten Island]).

Hi!
Longtime lurker here, but I decided to register to answer your question about Multimedia. I live a couple of blocks away from that store. it's on bleeker, i live on the lower east side. It is one of my favorite stores, I love the vibe in there... the guys in there are cool. a few are snotty, but some are pretty nice. Their prices are a bit high for hard to find stuff, but they pretty much have a great supply. If you ask they will test stuff out for you. I got gypped buying a japanese version of Mario 64 cuz I couldnt find it anywhere else.. i know ebay, but i never use ebay. i should start. i thought what would be the difference? but i can't get anywhere in the game. :( i just recently bought an n64 cuz i didnt have one and was curious. if anyone here would like to trade a box mario 64 japanese with everything included for a domestic, i will surely trade.
but anyway, yeah the prices are a bit high, but it's a good source for hard to find games and accessories. i love how they have controllers from all systems hanging from the ceiling. check if out if you get a chance! the only other video game stores i frequent are the gamestop and EB games on broadway. the gamestop guys aren't so bad. the EB though.. ugh. that place is a mess.

Great store, yes the prices are high but you can find stuff there that you likely have either never seen before, or haven't seen for years. I should return there soon.

I've gone to multimedia 1.0 many times and I Can truly say that those guys in there are very snotty and stuck up, I have never gotten a smile out of any of those guys, in fact one time I went in there and bought a massive amount of NES game covers and the guy's eyeballs almost came out of his head as he said "dude you can't buy all of those" (I was saying to myself, you gotta be kidding me right? but he wasnt) I was getting harassed for giving them business and another time i went in there and bought about $300 bucks worth of stuff and one of the reps was like "I wish I had a job that allowed me to spend this much on games" so that's an idea of the customer service you get there, I guess I'm just not trendy enough for them or something, anyway, on a positive note, they do have alot of rare stuff although not as rare as they used to be, the prices are steep but most of their "rare" goods are in great condition, I usually go in there nowadays to sell off old game goods because I'm too lazy to put it up for bid on ebay :o they will give you semi decent cash for your goods but will give you more for it if you take store credit which is kind of another scam, but that's what you put up with when living in the big apple I Guess

Multimedia 1.0 is quite the tease. You drool at the amount of stuff falling out of ever nook and cranny and then get pissed because it is way too expensive and the salespeople are a bunch of schmucks. Go there with a window shopping attitude to check it out and then save your cash.
You could try J & L in Chinatown. 28 Elizabeth Street, right off Canal. They also have high prices, but you can sometimes find some nice stuff. I got a used copy of Dragon Drive for the GC for $30 there. Picked up the Hori SNES-style GC pads and an import GB Player for fair prices as well. It is hit or miss, but worth the trip if you've never been there.
I just go with eBay now due to the plethora of good JP sellers.
