Let's face, it's really the most important part in any BEU. You'll use it throughout the entire game, so it has be awesome.
I'm still partial to Guy in Final Fight. I love his 2 punches to the jaw, one hard one to the gut, and then WAM! Right into the face with a roundhouse. It all happens so fast. It looks spectacular even to this day.

Double Dragon II: The Revenge
punch, punch, punch, grab, knee to the face, knee to the face, toss over your shoulder to the ground (or into a pit of spikes or whatever's handy at the time).

In Double Dragon Advance I do a kick, hair pull, 2 knees and than that knee special move you have to duck to do. Also the uppercut, knee is good for throwing enemies off the ledges. Also do that move where you jump on the top of them after there down for most damge points.
For Streets of Rage 2 punches and the uppercut move does about half of a life bar of damage for Axel. You can substitute your punching special move for the uppercut move. The one where you press forward and A and it does about 3/4 of a lifebar of damage. Although this doesn't work on some of the bosses.
Also for Streets of rage 2 using Axel do 2 or 3 punches let the enemies recover and repeat till there dead. This is the only why I can get to the final boss in the very hard skill level.
For Final Fight and most of the other Capcom games I do the regular 2 jab, punch and than down and attack so you throw them in the other direction instead of doing the kick at the end. This more applies to Guy but can be used for the other characters as well.
For Nekketsu Oyako do your normal punch, punch chain combo but end it with your special sword attack move instead of the kick if your playing as the well rounded character I forgot the name of. Probably works with the other 2 characters but i haven't played this in many years.
For Double Dragon 2 or 3 just do a kick or 2 or 3 punches and than finish off with a hurrican kick.
I haven't played any other Beat em ups in a while so I'm sure I'm missing quite a few that I've used over the years.
