Finally movin' on up closer to "modern", hehe...
......But the damn thing wouldn't work.
So, I tested it on another TV, and it worked... it seemed that it was the El Cheapo RF switch I'd bought.
So I returned it, and got a Not El Cheapo RF swtich.
Damn thing didn't work.
I think it's got a bad pin on the DC itself that outputs to the RF connector (the RF switches have a different pinout than the working Composite outputs).
Major annoyance. I guess I have to go back to the mall AGAIN tomorrow and switch it for a different DC... grrrrr.....
Oh well, at least I got a Dreamcast.
I just picked up Virtua Tennis and Tony Hawk, since they were cheap, and I was rather broke at this point... besides, even if it's not game art, Virtua Tennis should be fun to play with the roommates..
...

...
.
grrr =)

Good RPGS: you definitely want to check out Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2. If you're into action RPG's there's PSO and PSO v2 (get v2 if you have the option since it has everything from the first version and then some).
New Dreamcast owners don't forget our complete list and TOP 20. You can access both from the red banner below.
Enjoy!

I wuv my dreamcast. just stay away from Blue Stinger. A BAAAD Resident Evil Rip off. And the "RPG" Time Stalkers Sucks....Jet Grind radio is my favorite game for DC. the music is the best.

I'm assuming these are fun to play and engrossing WITHOUT the "online" facet?

I'm gonna say that it's half as much fun off-line, which still makes it a very fun game. It's not like most RPG's, it's a behind-the-back third-person action RPG with lots of fighting. There have been very few adrenaline rushes in gaming equal to that of wading into a crowd of bad guys in the ruins armed with a double-saber and performing twirling combos of death. I'm so happy this game was reborn on GC.

Virtua Tennis and Tennis 2K2 are STELLAR games. You'll definitely get lots of play time out of 'em.
You'll also need to get busy tracking down Power Stone 2. Best. 4-player game. Ever.

Adventure games? It's not for everyone, but I loved Shenmue (and Shenmue II which you must import)!
Shenmue has some bad dialog and pacing problems, but I'd never seen such attention to detail in a game. Wake up, get out of bed, walk down the hall. See the phone? Call the weather forecast! Call your girlfriend (and she might not be home, you get her mother!). Go into the kitchen, the old woman housekeeping is doing stuff. Go into the TV room, play some Hang On on the Saturn (if you've won the CD at the convenience store). Go into the apprentice's room, rifle through his drawers and desk. Go outside. See the water garden w/living chinese goldfish? It's raining today; it was clear yesterday. Walk out the gate -- brief load times. Walk through the little village, feed & pet a stray kitten. Go up to the apartments -- you can knock on every door if you want to; some people are home, some aren't, most will tell you to go away since you are indeed bugging them for no reason.
Walk past some kids playing ball on the street. One wants you to play with him, the other tries to mooch a 100 yen piece for the toy capsule machine. GO up to the toy capsule machines, win Sonic , Opa Opa, or Ristar toys for your collection. Go into the village store and be annoyed by the old hag that insists on calling you Baby Boy Ryo! Go to the park. Go to the town, gamble on the slots or go to the arcade and play Hang On or Space Harrier or darts.
After you do all these things, you may want to actually start playing the game! Unlike anything I'd ever seen before, I lost myself in it. And .. Shenmue II is better, due to faster pacing, way larger city, and much more actual fighting. But I love SHenmue's mood, atmosphere, sounds.
