I did not found it here on the Board, so I post this.
Found this on eBay today:
NES Nintendo Game Genie PROTOTYPE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8103245396&category=3605&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1)

Is this a real Prototype? Or is this selfmade? Looks a bit strange. @_@
And no high price yet. So when this is real, its a very low price.

That looks like home made.

The give away is the fact those those chips are not EPROMs!! Wouldn't you imagine that if you would be developing a new device, you'd be using EPROMs due to often changes in code???

Total hack.

Something tells me the seller probably expected more than $1.04 for that mess LOL

I know as a 100% fact that was a fake proto. I wrote a very long description in multiple emails to the seller explaining all the technical details on why it wasn't a proto, and the history of Codemasters, etc. I told them they should remove the word "prototype" from the listing. They wouldn't, but fortunately, people weren't fooled and it only went for $1.04. Funny enough, whoever actually bid seemed to clue in after, and wouldn't even pay the $1.04, because it was relisted! lol

Anyway, if you get an extra game genie or anything, take the case off (you need to break through the sticker and use a screw driver). It will look identical if you desolder the connector and solder a ribbon cable to the PCB.

The reason I bothered emailing them, is because I've grown tired of all the poeple on eBay posting their "Prototype!" that they "Picked up at a flea market". I'm sure 20% are ignorant people, the other 80% are just plain scammers.
